This unique seven-story brick pagoda is a wonderful relic from early Korea. However, for most visitors the site is too far out of the way, and there is only 1 thing to see. My visit took all of 15 minutes. It only took that long because of the difficulty of photographing the pagoda because of its location next to a wall.

The brick pagoda at Sinsedong-dong is exceptional and rare, but the site is not really an attraction. If your in Andong, and you have some free time, take a local bus or taxi to see this beautiful pagoda. It is somewhat far, and may cost you quite a bit by taxi. A fantastic site for history enthusiasts.

According to the sign, this is the oldest and largest brick pagoda in Korea. More info in the pictures.

This a quick stop while you visit sites in Andong. If you are heading from the Weolyeonggyo Bridge, you can park along the road before the pagoda. You cannot see it from the main road.

If you pass the entrance, no worries, just go a little further and turn right. A tiny side street will take you near the pagoda.

Make this a go to, on your way around Andong. It was a short stop before heading to the wolLyeong bridge, and worth it! So amazing to be able see and touch such a historic landmark. Just don't make the mistake of trying to visit the beautifully traditional houses behind it... People live there!

This famous seven stories brick pagoda is beautiful in itself. The construction is awe-inspiring and the information provided shows the historic relevance of this building. It's about a twenty minute walk from the train station to the pagoda. On the way to the pagoda you see some nice buildings, but all in all the walk is not that interesting. It's a real pity the pagoda lies right next to a railway, which is shielded by some ugly acoustic barriers.

We visited the pagoda by walking from the train station as suggested by the tourist info office. It was more than 20 mins and it's important to keep to tue left hand side of the road. En route you see a couple of the of household buildings in the tourist maps. Pagodas are beautiful and graceful structures and though I have seen my fair share of stone ones, brick ones are new to me so it was really fascinating to see including the 5 storey one near the station. After seeing the pagoda, we walked further to the Wollyeongo bridge which took another 45 mins (not 20 mins as the tourist info instructions suggest!!!) so would be good to combine sights together.

As I took a few steps to get to the seven-story statue, I was in a rage. I heard about it, but I didn't think there would be a seven-story building next to the railroad. The seven-story stupa, which had withstood a lot of shocks beside the railroad tracks, was built next to it. I was sorry.

게다가, 작은 돌에 새겨진 이름마저 틀렸다. 신세동 7층 전탑이 아니라 법층동 7층 전탑이다. 빨리 이름도 고치고 얼른 기찻길도 옮겼으면 좋겠다.

Furthermore, even the names engraved on small stones are incorrect. It is not a seven-story building in Sinse-dong, but a seven-story Beobheungdong. I hope we can change the name and move the train tracks soon.

I only have a quick view by a taxi driver brought me there, it seems not that great to see, I did not come in the right time, so the nearby is not open, and I only see the brick pagoda in a narrow view

Bit of a walk to get here. Interesting to see. Not of a lot of information available when you are there.
