    It gets busy
On a warn sunny day travelling to Apo was a delight. It is very busy with lots of boats to dive and snorkal. Vis was not the best but still some lovely sights and plenty of turtles and small fish. Sadly, larger fish have been taken and over fished. For macro divers like us it had limits and so after two visits we wouldnt visit again. Our choice as many do rave about it.

The best day trip out of Dumagete
Very beautiful and unique place close to Dumagete making it a great day trip. Access is tightly controlled and you are required to have a guide with you while snorkeling (guides are top notch). The coral formations are some of the best in the Cenu Negros area. The main draw is the abundance of sea turtles and the coral formations close to the beach. The island is also renowned for its abundance of sea snakes. One of the rare places where it’s almost guaranteed to see them in their natural environment (don’t worry they aren’t interested in you). One startling fact I have to mention. There is a total lack of fish. Unfortunately overfishing and pollution has (even though it’s a protected marine reserve) has taken a heavy toll over the ages. I have to give a shout out to one of my families favorite guides. His name is Alvin and he is incredible. I can’t recommend him enough. If you decide to visit I suggest asking for Alvin. You won’t regret it. Please make sure you tip him and the other guides well. They all are good and put in 110% to make sure you have a memorable experience. They all live on the island and guiding snorkeling trips is their main source of income to support their families. I repeat please TIP YOUR GUIDES! My wife and I permanently live in Dumagete. We make several trips a year to the island. It’s one of our favorite places to go.

The best place to meet turtle and lovely people of the Apo Island.
We booked our Apo Island trip through an Apo island local. The local people of Apo Island are preserving their sanctuary with considerate rules, pride, and respect towards their incredible nature. They are just so hospitable and lovely. They even had a protected(restricted) area just for the turtles to rest in peace. Our guide was trained by a dive master from Apo Island with 15 years of diving experiences. Time we spent there was just incredible.

From Malatapay, Zamboanguita, we logged in our details in the office, and paid a fee. A boat to Apo Island costs 3500 pesos. Once we got there, we again needed to pay a fee to the DENR office. We were told we needed to hire a tour guide even if the reef was in front of us, rent a lifevest even if we insisted we knew how to swim, and rent snorkelling and diving gear from them even if we bought our own. Of course these all costs each a fee. There were no lockers for your valuables so you need to place your things on a crooked table by the shade for - you guessed it - another fee. Thank goodness we struck this off our bucket list, becauss unless changes will be made, we are not coming back.

We dived here for two days from Dauin. Then no options to get to the island. Apo Island has beautiful reefs. There is, however, a lot of damage on the west side due to natural disasters. Lots of drift diving. Unlike coastal Dauin little macro. Locals come aboard to sell textiles. T-shirt 350 and sarong 500. At the diving school you pay a marine fee that is slightly higher than Dauin shore diving. The fish stock was very disappointing here.

Would have loved to take a walk around the island.

We took a day trip here and snorkeled two sites, and I dove at Chapel. The variety of corals was amazing and included both hard and soft corals with brilliant colors; however, the number and variety of fish were not as high as in the nearby Dauin Reserve. But the highlight of our visit was seeing the green turtles. We saw at least a half dozen different individuals. The turtles were completely comfortable with our presence. While snorkeling, I remained in a fixed position, watching one munch away. She kept moving closer and closer to me until she was only 4 feet away. I remained still, watching her for minutes. It was beautiful!

Need to take less an hour boat ride from the main Negros Island to Apo Island. Need to bring a water proof bag to put your personal belongings and cellphone to avoid of getting wet. the sea is crystal clear and very nice. a few meters from the shoreline you can dive to view the sea turtles at the seabed. You need a guide to properly direct you to approach the sea turtle. Other attractions are trekking to the mountain top of the island a have a 360 view of the nature and sea

Take it for 5 nights! Hotel! We checked in during the day. Early this morning, day six, moved out. By evening (after 4.30pm the guides leave the beach.. and you can watch the “packs” for free))) turtles! Or from 3 p.m. come from the edge of the beach (150 meters from the guides' sanctuary).. and swim not their way Looking at the corals.. the turtles will find you themselves) The electricity is on from 8 p.m., for three hours... In the evenings the air is filled with garyu (local food is prepared). This is the strongest downside. You walk around the village and say hello!
We were there 4 nights (as planned) . There was not enough time to enjoy distant locations (corals). By the way! My wife and I arrived at the dock at 7:00 a.m.... Passengers waited an hour and a half (to save on shipping) Boats private that groups took to Apo, we were not taken (and seats were on boats)... All in all! The support girl came up and offered a "collateral" transfer THERE and definitely on it, BACK! Local shuttle with water and mail. For 4,000 pesos. We want to visit Apo a second time... link it to another Philippine route!

Enjoyed the beautiful reef off APO island. Completed two dives but bad weather prevented us for enjoying a second day of diving here. The locals brought an assortment of travel souvenirs onboard for us to brose through and purchase.
