About
Regarded as one St-Martin’s most famous beaches, Orient Bay Beach enjoys the reputation of being the “St. Tropez of the Caribbean.” This stunning strip of white sand with clear turquoise waters is the perfect place to relax and soak up the sun. There is no shortage of bars, restaurants, and beach clubs to choose from, and a strong breeze makes for great parasailing, kitesurfing, and hand gliding. While Plage Naturiste at the southern end is the designated nudist stretch of the beach, you will find that many visitors adopt a clothing-optional mindset all the way along Orient Bay Beach. – Tripadvisor

    Bluest of Waters
Here “barely” 10 months later (See my review April 2022). Nothing much has changed except it was busier and less strewn with debris from Hurricane Irma 2017. Still just the bluest of waters and the softest, cleanest white sand around. No wonder it is such a popular place. To connect to my first sentence, yes, at the southern end, you will find a clothing optional beach. Barely noticeable….

    Still a beautiful beach
We spend six hours on the naturist section of the beach on a visit from a cruise ship. The 30 minute journey from the cruise port cost $25. We rented 2 sunbeds and an umbrella for $25. This is still a beautiful beach despite the lack of redevelopment following the hurricane in 2017. The beach consists of soft white sand and shelves gradually into the sea. There is a seaweed problem which was less evident on the naturist section of the beach. The Perch Bar and Grill is a great place to get food and drink without having to get dressed. Happy hour was between 1:30 and 2:30 pm whilst we were there. It was very windy at the front of the beach, less so further back. The toilet facilities are very basic; just a toilet in a wooden shed. The remains of the Club Orient resort are a stark reminder of the suffering the island endured during the hurricane. Most of the people on the beach were nude and consisted mainly of couples. Despite some of the downsides a great place to relax in a safe environment. Highly recommended.

Fantastically Beautiful Beach—windy with Strong surf
Just a special experience to sit and absorb the beauty or to walk the beach. Plenty of swimmers willing to handle the surf. Many places to rent chairs and umbrellas—several with bar service and food from the attached restaurants. Not crowded during our visits, but we hear that cruise passengers change that equation.

    Stunning Beach
I could have spent all day here maybe longer. The water is crystal blue and the sand was like walking on powder. There is a wide range of beach activities offered here for a cost. We watched kite surfing (I think that is what it is called ) for a while. This is a nude beach but everyone we saw had something one. There was a lot of people on the beach but well spread out which made it not seem busy. You can rental lounge chairs and umbrellas as well. There was a shack they called the washroom, but at least it was something. There was a lot of dried seaweed around but hey its the beach. I don't think I would take small kids here, it seemed like the waves were more than they could handle.

    Beautiful Beach
Beautiful beach, short ride from the cruise ship port. Nice restaurants with drinks and a little shopping. $20 USD for chairs and umbrella, good deal. The only island in our cruise to sell Red Stipe 😊 Six for $20 is a great deal! The one place that we visited that I wish to return. I should also mention the nudists down the way will inevitably take a leisurely stroll, no need to go to that side to sneak a peek 🫣

Fun and Relaxation in the Sun in Paradise
Beautiful, Relaxing Beaches with great food and scenery! Love Le String for fabulous drinks and food. Prices are good and service is impeccable! The Pain Killer is the best!!!! Stay away from Aloha, they charged us a $40 surcharge, which was 30% of our bill. The food was fine, but the surcharge was beyond ludicrous!!!! We will never darken their doors again! We only went because Le String was closed.....

    A more lively beach experience
Beach was pretty, but there was a decent amount of seaweed. It was $20 for 2 chairs and an umbrella to rent and came with 2 drinks. This is a busier beach than some of the others on the island. If you want music, water sports, and a more lively beach experience, this is for you! Tops optional and nude at one end. Just a heads up for those traveling with kids who may want to know upfront.

This is a beach with everything to offer
This beach is a long white sand beach facing the Atlantic Ocean. It is a beautiful beach to say the least. It has six restaurants on the beach. One of note is La Playa which had unbelievably good food and service. The beach is not supposed to be topless but I would estimate about one fourth of the women were (at least where we were). There is also a naturist beach at the end where my wife and I went. We LOVED it. It was so freeing. If you are looking to get past body image issues that Americans are saddled with then do this. You learn that there are people with all shapes, sizes, and ages there and nobody judges. Also there are rentals of water craft. This beach has it all. I will go back as soon as I can. If you let it, this beach will allow you to be free and have fun.

Perfect beach all around. Family friendly + a nude section on the right side with great snorkeling.
Fantastic, quiet, safe, beautiful. Great snorkeling (only at the rocks in front of the nude section). This beach feels very French which was a nice twist. The restaurants had great French food and friendly people. Very classy beach. If you snorkel, the ONLY place where you’ll see fish is in the roped off section in front of the nude area. Fantastic snorkeling. Awesome day all around. I’ll be back.

A Experience that's truly in Paradise
From Philipsburg, We took a day trip to visit Orient Bay Beach. a $25 cab ride got us there in about 30 minutes. (arrange to have the cab pick you up at a designated time as there are no waiting cabs at a cab stand there) It is tucked away off the beaten path and very secluded. There is a nude portion that is segregated down the beach but we chose to not venture there. The water is warm, wonderful and has a sugar sand beach that has no sharp rocks or shells. You can walk out for 40 yards or so before you cease to touch. No need for water shoes. I want to give a special shout-out to the beach bar, Chez Leandra. we rented a beach umbrella there with 2 chairs for $20 (as you can do with several bars along the beach) The owner is Z, but we dealt with John and Natalie, fantastic hosts! The facility is well groomed and the inside is clean and neat. We ate a lunch of Garlic Conch and it was to die for! Fresh, savory and a little spicy it was everything I was looking for in a unique island experience. Natalie made for me her special (which should be world famous by the way) Bourbon sour. She made it by adding several ingredients and floated a half shot of bourbon on top. Trust me when I say a bourbon sour is my "go to" and I have never had one this good! Truly a 5-star experience.

Orient Bay Beach is quite large and there are vendors that offer all kinds of water activities. Suggest you get there early, as parking gets filled. We paid $ 20 for two beach chairs & umbrella at the first location, closest to parking (I think it is named “Moi,” but don’t recall. The $ 20 also provides access to bathrooms - very clean & to showers. We had a great lunch and our server, from Dijon, France, was delightful. They may be a little more expensive than other spots on the strip, but definitely worth it.

We spent the day with chairs and umbrellas for $25 at Wai Plage, an elegant restaurant (and hotel which wasn't visible from the shore). The sand was soft, the beach wide and the water clear with some waves. One day it was windier so more chop in the water. Plenty of water sports to watch or partake. The menu was excellent, we had salad with smoked marlin one day, grilled fish sandwich, slow cooked pork. Our beach guy JR was a gentleman, helpful and cheerful. We weren't crowded on the beach, really enjoyed the calm and adult setting. We didn't explore the whole beach so didn't see the several other options mentioned on Trip Advisor. Went back a second day and will again.

If you’re looking for activities, comfort, food and beauty this is the beach. It literally has it all. If you want something more remote there are definitely other beaches but we keep coming back here. It can get pricey but the water is calm and perfect for young kids and the beach clubs and recreation stands provide fun for the adults.

Orient Bay beach is still one of the best on the island. About 2 km long, it is great for walking. Many beach bars have been or are being rebuilt, and there is a lot of beach activity near the hotels in the middle, but there is still much hurricane damage visible. On windy days the waves can be quite big and there is a lot of kite surfing going on. The water gets deep relatively quickly and the sand is white and soft.

On the North end, there is more seaweed and some green growing from the land side, so the beach is narrower, but quieter. At the South side, it is still clothing optional oriented, but it is sad to see the ruins of the famous Club Orient.

Spent a day at this beautiful beach in St Martin; on the French side of island. Beach is gorgeous with beautiful surf and sand. Plenty of good restaurants with beach front amenities. We spent the day swimming, walking and relaxing. It was a bit windy which made the temperature comfortable and the waves were great fun for swimming and water sports. There were a few vendors offering typical wares. Observed some tourists enjoying beachfront massages. A short walk up the beach we discovered a nude beach where folks of all ages were sunning themselves.
Transportation is easy to find to and from cruise port. We found this beautiful beach to be less crowded than other beaches we visited in the Carribbean. Highly recommend!

This is my favorite beach out of all the beach here in st. Martin/ st. Maarten. What I liked about it was the giant parking lot that stretched from Bikini beach to Perch Bar. Bikini beach is where you can find the water sports. Down by Perch Bar is where you can live your life in complete nudity. I was reluctant at first, but it was a freeing experience. You can rent chairs for $20 (couple) and enjoy happy hour at Perch bar 1:30-2:30. The margarita was amazing! You get a lot of privacy here despite all the eyes watching. It was mostly older men and women. Couple of people walking by the shoreline, but I didn’t care. Swimming in the ocean, au naturale was a cherry on the top and great way to even the tan. The warm water was magnificent. I tried Kontiki Beach Restaurant, the chicken wrap had my boyfriend raving for the days. Unfortunately the second time around the kitchen closed at 4 p.m. I recommend this beach 1000%.

Beautiful beach day. Lots of places to get beach chairs and umbrellas for the beach. Lot of cafes and bars for lunch on the beach. This is an Atlantic Ocean side beach. Bigger surf and waves than the Caribbean side. Shore is covered with seaweed from the ocean, and beach front facilities rake it frequently, but you expect it, not a problem. The day we were there it was extremely windy and the surf was up very high, so very few people were getting into the surf for bathing. The windsurfing was active and I watched the surfers enjoy the wild ride they had. Get there by car on French side. Not easy to find entrances without phone map app.

This beach is famous for the nude beach side. We went to the family side-bathing suits were required. We drove through the nude beach on our way....Beach chair and umbrella rental was only $5-a real bargain. lots of water sports as well. Not as crowded as close to the cruise port beaches. Small cab fare and a fun day in the in while in port. Tell your cab driver what timed to pick you up and they are there waiting for you.
