The abbey church offers peace, tranquility and perspective free of charge. A visit is a must. They always welcome enquiries from anyone considering becoming a priest.

Any car travelers to Normandy going North or West from Rouen should not miss this gorgeous abbey and gardens - the views from the terrace are some of the best in the region. The abbey itself is a rare example of a fully-intact Romanesque (i.e. pre-gothic) church with few alterations. We liked it better than any other stop on the "Abbey Route", even though the ruins of Jumièges are more important historically. An English language audio-guide is lovingly put together and is perhaps too detailed, but it does keep you lingering around the site.

If you love churches or gardens you should visit this. It’s not crowded with tourists but the church is simply beautiful with some fabulous ancient stone carving. The gardens adjoining are partly free and then there is a part you need to pay to go into . There is also an audio guide to the church available in the shop which is in the free part of the gardens. There are also toilet facilities in the gardens

Nice visit to an Abbey with a long and interesting history. Audio guides are free with admission fee, worth a visit if you are staying close by as we were.

This is large and at first glance somewhat cold yet on closer inspection there are gorgeous capitals and attractive details that take this above a basic church visit to something more rewarding. In addition there is a really interesting garden that has been restored extending up the hill to the east. All together it forms a most enjoyable visit.

If for some reason you REALLY want to make a point in seeing this old church and abbey, by all means do so! But if you're considering it as a 'possible' stop on a longer trip, I'd advise skipping it and spending time at Jumieges instead.
I was FAR less impressed with Saint Georges de Boscherville than with Jumieges.

The Abbey was an unexpected treat on the way to Rouen. Beautiful 12th century Benedictine Abbey gives you a good idea of monastic life in Normandy. The Abbey church built in the Norman Roman style is remarkably preserved; the church interior is graciously simple, elegant and full of bright light.
The whimsical columns of the Chapter House is another treat. And then amazing Abbey grounds with remarkable view of the Seine valley... No words to describe how beautiful the gardens are: you will enjoy the rose garden, the kitchen garden, the vineyard, and the magnificent terraces.
The Abbey is 30-45 minutes easy drive from Rouen, the audio guide is provided, plenty of parking. It was such a relaxing and enjoyable walk on a gorgeous May day.

Saint-George is a must-see for lovers of Norman architecture.
Completed around 1130, it is one of the best-preserved examples of its time. In the 13th century the original timber roof was replaced with a Gothic vault and the tower tops of the west façade were added. However, the interior is otherwise pristine Romanesque.
The foliated capitals are of particular historical significance for being new to the region. Scholars have identified many of the plants. Moreover, the construction site is deliberately oriented to the summer solstice sunrise in the east end and many capitals dedicated to saints positioned for sunlight on the saint’s day. It truly is a treasure.
Note that many art history texts refer to these churches by the name of their village, in this case Saint-Martin-de-Boscherville.
A bonus to any visit is the garden, restored along formal French lines in the park surrounding the abbey. For many it will itself be worth the journey.

Exquisite Stations of the Cross in the Abbey. I'd love to know who made them. So many surprising architectural details within. Lovely gardens and surrounding area.
