Fantastic hike and view point
Sep 2020
One of the best hike I have ever done in my life, from Haputale town we hike through the Black Forest jungle, it was great adventure. It took almost 3 hours to reach the view point. We have able to see some wild life animals, birds, small mammals, lizards etc. we get down from the thotalagala side which is other side of the mountains to see lake Richmond. Highly recommend to do this hike if your in Haputale. Same hike you can visit the ravana cave too.

Superb view point of Haputhale
Mar 2020
This is almost 360 degree view point (actually 270) situated about 2 km away from Haputhale town. You have to walk along Haputhale-Dambethenna road and get left had turn to Prabawa Day mountain view point. It is about 1.5 km walk and a hike through tea bushes till you reach the place. Surangamuni Kovil and proposed site of Buddhist stupa are situated at this view point. Better go in early morning to get a super view from the place.

360 Degries fantastic View from the highest place from Haputale.
Sep 2019
You can enter the path leading to the view point by going on the Dambetenna/ Lipton's seat road and walk from a Hindu Temple (Kovil).
Directions are given with sign boards. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to climb to the view point which is the highest place in Haputale. Therefore the Haputale area can be seen. You get 360 degrees view.
You get different fauna (squirrel, lizard, jungle foul, birds etc) and flora as a result is name as a national park. There are pathways from the tea plantations at the start.

Amazed of the views
Jul 2019
Prabhawa view point is one part of the main haputale mountain range. The views from the cliff made us amazed .So beautiful and yet not distant but a bit remote for those who spent time here.Just walk along the dambetenna main road and start climb through the off road falls between the huge building construction site of Sherwood estate. Remains of an abandoned Buddhist temple and a Hindu temple also can be found atop.
Ideal for Nature lovers. No need of a guide and no entrance fee.this site should be the no one place for tourists in Haputale

Nice view but a long way
Jul 2018 • Couples
The sign suggests it's 1.5km from the bottom. It's a lot longer than that! Walking g through the plantation is nice and the shrine at the top with the view is good but it takes a while to find and the last part isn't that we'll marked. Look for the arrows and they'll show you the way. For a quicker way down, use the stairs but exercise caution as it's a little steep.

Great walk and beautiful view

While in Haputale, one should not miss visiting Prabhawa view point. From here, you can have a clear panoramic view of Haputale to all sides. If you are a person who loves tracing/walking, then Start climbing right from bottom to top. This is absolutely an attractive site.We are fortunate as it was a sunny day but, If it seems to be a rainy day you should to take rain wear or umbrella.

Outstanding!

We had a fabulous time taking the Prabhawa Mountain View point climbing.
It was a nice experience of climb and the fantastic views from the top of the peak.
The day we did the hike was a very hot day, so the coolness offered by the nature was definitely a bonus! Again.
I highly recommend this hike - it's an experience you will remember!

Note: you should take closed-toe shoes to make your climbs easier.

Also, there is a short hike that is not friendly for sandals (rocks and dirt creep in).

Best Tourist attraction in Haputale
Mar 2018 • Friends
Prabhawa Mountain day view point is at the highest part in Haputale. It is 1500 meters over the sea level and from there is possible to observe whole region around Haputale.

To get there you can walk through Dambatenna road and once you pass the Hindu temple you do meet some housed by the road. Interestingly an abandoned vehicle yard could be found on the right side of the road.A few steps further on the left side a foot path can be found which the entrance to Prabhawa mountain cliff is. Walk through the tea fields (there are off roads too)

Almost two hours of walk you will be at the point. Do not expect much of the guide. It repeats the same hundreds of time, because there is not harder of finding the way

Much to say about the mountain and the cross on top of it. Finally on top of the mountain the views are amazing. I studied on a blog that this place has been declared as a national park due to it’s flora and fauna. If you have plenty of time, this is a ideal outdoor activity in Haputale. We hiked as a group and really enjoyed the day.

Something you will regret if missed !!!!

When I read all the reviews etc it said that the Prabhawa view point trek was for all levels of fitness so we’re thinking,Hmm yes we can do it.We are both in our 50's and smokers and of relative fitness. We started out and when we were due to stop for a while we decided to keep going as it had been quite easy.OMG almost one and half hours directly uphill with plenty of walking through the tea fields.

It was the most amazing experience .We didn't actually go up the 45 min climb to Prabhawa View point in the morning as there was a lot of cloud and the views were not that great as we were told later by people who did go.We ended up going up

The highest peak on our walk and got great views from there.Awesome bucket list experience. The crossover of golden sunset and perfectly greenish mountain forms a magnificent view. This is what you cannot miss during prabhawa view point trekking ! We didn’t make it though early waking up in a very early morning, it is totally worth it !!!

You can only amaze the beauty of nature when the mountain turning into golden after the touch by the golden beam of sunset.
