It was an amazing excursion for our family. We did the Ruins and beach time with a meal and it was well worth our time and money! We drove on a nice charter bus and were given bottled water on many occasions. Our tour guide...More

Our trip was excellent! Diego gave a great tour of the ruins but the best part was the Lagoon. Amazing water and very secluded!

I highly recommend this Carnival shore excursion. The buses are air conditioned, water is provided before and after the tour, light snack is provided, and the tour guides are very knowledgeable. My family and I did this excursion early May so the heat and bugs...More

We decided to do the Chacchoben tour through native choice during our cruise to Costa Maya and would highly recommend it if you are doing the ruins tour. Through Native Choice they get you to the ruins quickly before many of the other tourists. It...More

We traveled to the Chacchoben Ruins with Native Choice Tours. The trip to the ruins went through a Mayan community. Pineapple fields and roadside stands were plentiful. 'The Place of Red Corn" is a settlement by the Maya. It is estimated at 200BC and the...More

Our group of seven were treated with drinks, pineapple and chili powder, (delicious!) and a very descriptive and intelligent tour of the Mayan Ruins in Costa Maya, Mexico by Juan-Carlos. He was very sweet, friendly, very knowledgeable about the history and local agriculture, and eager...More

Not nearly as beautifully built as Chichen Itza, but very interesting to walk by unexcavated ruins waiting to be restored. Tour guides were not quite as informative as Chichen Itza, but you still learned interesting facts.

Best excursion and saved 50% of what cruise would have charged. Juan Carlos was the best tour guide! We learned a lot from him and he was easy to understand. There were only 11 people on the tour and we were in a very nice...More

Booked the tour through Viator (for significantly less than ship price). It was easy to find the meeting place as there is only one road once outside the shopping mall. The driver, tour guide, and greeters were all wonderful and extremely friendly. I really enjoyed...More

About an hour a way from Costa Maya, took a tour from the cruise docks. Great history and story telling a long the way. The ruins are truly amazing and something you should visit.

The path even though flat is uneven with tree roots growing through. There are occasional seats, if she is unsteady 2 walking sticks is advisable. Make sure you have hats, midge spray, sunscreen and plenty of water. It is a... More

I forgot... there's only one place where you're allowed to climb the ruins. You won't miss much if you can't climb them. Lots of photo ops right on the ground.

We took our 9 and 4-year-old and they very much enjoyed it. Our kids have traveled a lot, so they've become used to listening to the history of a place. The oldest understood the history and loved looking at the ruins. We... More
