Located between Uxmal and Merida, this nice set of ruins is worth the visit. nicely reconstructed and easy to get around. Needs an hour or two depending on the level of your investigation.

We wlwalked these ruins and the only bustle around was from a local fox. The ruins have been excavated wonderfully. Truly felt like you had been transported back in time.

We got shut out of the excursion provided by our cruise ship Norwegian's Getaway, so we booked through Trip Advisor/Viator/Mayan Connection, saved money, and were in a small group led by the inimitable Diana Cabrera. A student/scholar/researcher, Diana exuded her great enthusiasm, knowledge base and...More

A very interesting & informative excursion. Our tour guide took the time to explain what we were seeing & how & why it got there. very relaxed pace, although there is a fair amount of walking and some pretty tall steps (stairs?) to climb.

It is definitely worth the time it takes to get to Chacchoben. Much better than I anticipated. But we are living in a world of mass tourism so be prepared for a lot of accompanying tourist buses.

It is amazing that these important ruins of the ancient Mayan civilization still exist. The site has a store up front that offers drinks, restrooms, and souvenirs. The buildings are still laid out on the grid as they were originally designed. Very impressed with the...More

This was probably one of my favorite attractions that I got to experience during this vacation. We took a tour with a company right outside of the port and they were extremely accommodating, knowledgeable and professional. They spoke both English and Spanish and once you...More

We booked this Deluxe Tour excursion through our Norwegian Cruise Line ship, the Pearl. We loved the idea that it was a small group of less than 12 in a minivan vs. hundreds in buses. (Another perk was that the big bus tours were in...More

Just completed our 1/2 day tour booked thru Viator - Mayan Tours and had a super experience. Although we are on the Celebrity Equinox we elected to go with Viator because of the superior price and service. Just a week ago there was a horrible...More

We booked ahead but there are opportunities in port. Honestly, it is the guide that makes the tour. Not a lot to the ruins. In my opinion

Our cruise tour was 3 hours and paid $70. We always take the cruise excursions because if something happens then the ship waits.
