Very nice ruins for a short visit. The area is very nice with all the trees around. Is very important to notice that the ruins are not at the town of the same name about 10km away, but in a very different road.

Booked through Shore Excursions Group and received tour from Native Choice with Erick and Edgar. Walk to Native Choice from cruise terminal was easy with directions provided. The ruins were amazing, lunch was excellent and the lake was beautiful. Wonderful excursion with knowledgeable tour guides. Highly recommend.

Visited last week. Booked thru our cruise line (Royal Caribbean). Went with my 11 year old and my parents. Lisbeth was a very knowledgeable guide and Aldo was a great driver. Very smooth trip on a highway type road. Clean bus and they gave us bottled water. We took the early tour and it wasn't hot. Plenty of shade on... More

Booked this off the ship. Very knowledgeable and entertaining guide. Gave us interesting background into Mayan culture. The tour itself was very interesting, but a bit crowded. Groups had to take their turns at the first stop, which caused us to rush through the last stop. Wish I knew Spanish to chat with the local guide. I feel like she... More

We went an hour before closing time. All the buses had left and we were all alone.....perfect! The ruins might not be as impressive as the more famous ones but having the place to ourselves was beautiful. And observing a family of spider monkeys in the jungle around the ruins was a treat !

This site was absolutely amazing. We went there as an excursion on a cruise ship. The guide couldn't speak much English and we didn't learn anything from him. But, walking through the site was a teaching lesson in itself. The ruines are very assessable from site to site but walking up the steps can be very physical. Each step was... More

The Chacchoben Ruins excursion from our Norwegian Getaway cruise was the highlight of our trip. We were met by Jole Perez and our driver Miguel, and taken on a wonder tour through history, and were shown how the Mayan culture is alive and well today. The tour included a stop for fresh pineapple, a wonderful hands-on tour of the Mayan... More

We were going on an excursion from our cruise ship, and decided to book Chacchoben ruins through tripadvisor (much cheaper than ship excursions). Tripadvisor set us up with a new company called Viator, which provided nice access to refreshments and a personalized experience to the 8 of us in who were in the group (as opposed to a 40 person... We booked the Chacchoben Mayan Ruins tour through ShoreExcursions.com. Kasi and Abel were wonderful. The ruins were very interesting and Kasi explained all the history. In addition, while traveling to and from the ruins, she was telling us about life there. We really enjoyed all of it. They provided water for us and Abel brought a cooler along in case... More
