Coming from Seoul, this is the first stop of the DMZ tour. It is a surprising place, being a cross between an open air collection of artifacts from the Korean War (eg a locomotive which was blown up during the conflict), monuments to the war and to the United Nations and a funfair, reminiscent of what you find at Niagara Falls. It takes about 45 minutes to walk around and sets the scene neatly for what follows.

I came to Imjingak Resort as a pit-stop with my tour ground to see the JSA at the demilitarized zone. There were a few historical things to see here, a small amusement park, and a few places to eat. It isn't a place that I would go out of my way just to see but it was a nice stop on the way to my destination. I ate at the Rodem Restaurant (로템 레스토랑) which served delicious traditional Korean cuisine and I tried a cane ice cream cone from the neighboring convenient store which was also delicious.
