Great place in any weather

Lovely place to visit and discover all about mills throughout the ages & countries, best we've seen yet, even on a showery day in October. We had an English version of the video all to ourselves! It is a beautiful place. Kids old & young will enjoy a visit, quite interactive and plenty of water around! Well worth the €5 entrance. Parking might be a prob in high season.

A great experience

This museum takes you to the ancient times, to show you how they used to turn grain into flour with different mill techniques. Not only you can see how they work, but you can try by yourself most of them.
It is a fun place for children and adults also, and the fee is not expensive. A small parking is available, you better come early or maybe you will have to park at the town and walk to the museum (it's around 10 - 15 minutes in walking distance)
Also, the surroundings are beautiful, not so far there is a waterfall.

This is a curious rural museum, located in a beautiful environment. It´s a themed museum, dedicated to mills. After an introductory eight minute video, you can go around the venue which is built around a small river surrounded by trees. There are a wide range of mills, machinery, contraptions... displayed in a few small buildings or by the river banks: some of them are local, others are reproductions of Brazilian or Chinese mills so you get an idea on how important the cereal grinding has been to mankind along the centuries. Besides, it´s one of these uncommon places where you are encouraged to touch pieces. Quite interesting for all people, especially children. Cheap entrance tickets.

Very interesting museum

The visit began with a DVD of the museum and how the mills worked. We then walked around a really interesting area with many different mills. The bar next door served a great local lunch to complete our visit.

I visited this with my husband and 5 year old daughter. We hadn't heard of it before, so had no expectations but were very impressed. The museum shows the development of mills, from how grains were ground by hand, via simple machines to the use of water mills. Each child is given a leaflet, with an age-relevant 'exam' to complete in order to receive a certificate at the end. Everything is very hands on and my daughter particularly enjoyed the Chinese Mill. A very pleasant experience, topped off by a wonderful home made lunch at the bar next door. All of the information was in Spanish and I don't know if it was available in English or not.
