About
We are Ivka and Boris, young married couple and outdoor enthusiasts. We founded "Spirit of Korkyra" so that we can show you all the amazing spots that Korčula has to offer! We have kayaking, hiking and trail running tours. And we organize kayak training camps with our friend and great kayaker from Belgium Dimitri Vandepoele. In our kayak tours like "Bits of History" and "Sunset" Kayak Tours we will take you through history while being immersed in nature and the sea. We will take you to the little islands in front of Lumbarda and in a whole day kayak tour all the way to the old town of Korčula. Our stops includes some of the old quarries and monasteries in the area but also some beautiful beaches with crystal clear sea where you can just relax and swim. So join us and have a good time on Korčula! :)

We have rented the kayaks for half-a-day to go around small islands. We enjoyed every minute of it thanks to the fantastic hosts! They took the time to explain all in great amount of details, from safety to best routes to take, restaurants and views. Thank you so much! The trip was a highlight of our vacation in Croatia!

Wow....don't hesitate book and most wonderful experience with Spirit of Korkyra.
I contacted Ivka and Boris at Spirit of Korkyra and asked them to organise a 3 day multisport challenge for a group of my friends. They surpassed my hopes and organised the most fabulous 3 days in April 24 for us that was perfect in every way. They had considered every little detail to ensure that everything ran smoothly, we were safe, well fed and watered and had the most fabulous time.
• Day 1 - 20 km run and hike
• Day 2 – 50 km, 75 km and 120 km bicycle
• Day 3 – 12 km kayak
At all times we had helpful guides, who were extremely knowledgeable and excellent at their sport. We got to explore the whole Island, off the beaten track and learn lots of new things about the Island. All of the equipment was of a very high standard.
It was the perfect three days. Ivka, Boris and the team could not have done more to help us.

Excellent afternoon spent with Boris as a perfect host and guide. Highly recommended activity for anyone visiting Korčula Island. Of course you can rent a kayak and explore yourself but you can never find hidden gems that Boris was kind to show us. He and his wife even prepare vegan snacks for us. Booking, communication and activity was simply perfect. Thumbs UP!!

If you visit Korcula Island, don't miss the opportunity to do a kayaking trip with Spirit of Korkyra in Lumbarda, which is only 15 mins drive from Old Town Korcula. Owner/ kayaking guide Boris is amazing! He is very professional, knowledgable, kind, helpful and patient. He will give you the most beautiful, interesting and safe kayaking tour in the area! We had a wonderful and memorable kayaking experience with Boris and his sweet and charming wife, Ivka. I hope we will have the opportunity to go back someday in the future. Thank you, Boris and Ivka! You guys are amazing people!

We had an amazing morning kayaking with Boris (4 adults)! Sea kayaks were excellent quality and we visited 4 islands over ~4 hours. We ate Boris’s wife’s home made pastries and their family’s Gryk wine en route. Swam of course in some lovely spots. And learnt a tonne about the history of Korcula which was a real bonus- from the history of the now-flooded Greek quarry to the origin of carat, solutions to island snakes, mother vs stepmother, reason for the fishbone layout of old Korcula, markings on gravestones and city plaques, old classroom teaching etc etc. So this was a perfect morning with a perfect guide. Thank you Boris!

Boris is a fantastic guide, instructor and host. He has a great personality and tells you about the area that we visited by kayak with so much passion and pride. He is always looking out for others and gives really great talks as you take short breaks from kayaking and visit islands. If you want to blend kayaking with local knowledge then look no further. Owned by a young couple, Boris & Ivka, this is their first summer in business and we highly recommend this company! They met us in the harbor in Lumbarda. This area is just a short cab ride from the Old Town, it is not hard to get to at all! (We got a cab at the bus station in Old Town) We went a few hours early and walked around the beaches and explored Lumbarda before heading off on our tour. Boris led us on a wonderful tour that was about 3.5 hours long, we got off a few times to explore a couple of the islands. The tour ends on a small island, where it was just us and the bunnies. Boris provided us with some homemade snacks & wine; and we sat and enjoyed the sunset before kayaking back to Lumbarda. The group was small (only four of us), and we were in sea kayaks. It was better than all the large groups we saw kayaking passed us in the sit on top kayaks. We can't say enough about this wonderful couple, we would highly recommend choosing this company over the many that provided kayak tours in the area!

My partner and I booked a half day tour with Boris. Just like other reviewers, our experience before the tour exchanging messages with Ivka was very positive. Then, going on tour with Boris was everything we'd hope for and more.
From the get go, we knew we were dealing with someone who cared about the product he offered. Kayaks were top notch and Boris has the proper training to ensure his guests can enjoy them to their fullest. He's the perfect antidote to all those operators who are happy to take your money and set you off with just the bare minimum and no explanation about the conditions and your surroundings.
As a matter of fact, what Boris offers is a real tour. Having taken quite a few kayak and SUP tours in the past few years in a variety of destinations, we'd almost gotten used to the fact that, although people call them tours, what we get most often is someone to dictate the course and schedule but who provides no interesting comment. Boris, on the other hand, is knowledgeable, resourceful and very interesting to listen to. I'm pretty confident he's good at gauging what your interests and skill level are and adapting both his comments and route according to them.
We did ours as a private tour, but Boris ensures us he intends on keeping groups small as this is the best way to interact with guests and adapt to their needs. We are decent paddlers and our tour amounted to approximately 15 km, which suited us perfectly, but he always made sure to check how we were doing and was ready to revise the course should we be too tired and/or not please with the plan. But pleased we were!
Another detail that made the difference: wet bags were provided and our belongings were safely stowed away on each our boat while we were paddling. So I had my camera and ID with me the whole time and could take them out when we were on land. Restrooms were available (before the tour, on at least one of the islands and after), and we could also buy more water at one of the stops.
We also could wear those kayak skirts preventing water to get in when we so desired (like when the waves were stronger) and I've never had such a worry-free ride since I started kayaking!
I'll conclude by saying Boris is extremely knowledgeable about kayaking and about safety, so do not hesitate to book a tour with him as you will not regret it.

Everything was just perfect, Boris is an excellent guide, very fun and he explained everything very well. The home made croation snacks made by his wife were delicious. The equipment was in perfect conditions and the kayak very stable. We are definitely coming back, thank you!

We will be in Lumbarda for a week from 18th August and I would like to organise some structured activities for us. We are 2 women (myself and my sister-in-law) with 3 girls age 10, 11 and 15. Potentially interesting activities are pedal boarding, kayaking and hiking. I have seen some information on Trip Advisor but don't know what may be appropriate for the children. With the exception of my 10 year old daughter (who can understand a bit of Croatian) we all understand Croatian but Assia will need someone who speaks English for any activity she is participating in. Most of our daily tours are ok for children that age, with the exception of whole day kayak tour.
We speak english so that will be ok, regarding Assia. :)
The tours that we would recommenced for you are Bits of History-Half Day Kayak Tour and Kočje-Hiking through the magic forest (This one we will list in few days on our web, but we think it is great for the kids, we always go there with our kid and friends with kids).. It is a short hike max 3. hours with break.
And regarding kayaking we think that the Bits of History-Half Day is ok. And kids like it so far. We go to see one island with big quarrie spot and then we go to see one island with a monastery and deers roaming around..
