It’s a tricky drive down the valley to the car park, but it’s worth it. This place is like paradise. Crystal clear water with waterfalls. There are natural platforms to jump into the lagoons, a 10 meter, 13 meter and 16 meter diving platform to dive or jump into the lagoons. You can follow the river through 3 more lagoons, you have to swim across each one and finally you come to a waterfall. Absolutely amazing.

A fabulous way to spend a day - make sure you travel light as to get to the waterfall at the end, and let's face it, that has to be your goal, you need to swim small sections of the river. But boy is it worth it. Absolutey excellent day - and if you're up for it, jumping off the rocks into the pool is just exhillerating.

Fancied a trip away from the beach, getting close to nature and breath the air from the mountains. Read the reviews about the yellow hut and calling the man at Juntas de la Rios to get entry but decided to drive 4 miles further, past Mirador de la Cabres Montes, to the entrance to the Natural Park for Rios Verde. What a great decision that was. Totally had the place to ourselves until late afternoon. Absolute paradise. No entry fee, just a long rough ride down to several parking places until you can drive no further. Then a 90 mins walking which is sign posted all the way, for the park to reveal the beautiful green lagoons of fresh flowing water with the powerful cascade of Rio Verde blasting from above. Loved it! Hope you do as well. P.S. An Ibex came and watched from above. Added bonus!

Not easy to find and not easy to get to, but definitely worth the effort. We had an incredible afternoon walking, swimming and jumping off the rocks into crystal clear water. Amazing scenery. Our route involved a steep drive on a thin, dusty, uneven track so both the drive and the activity is only for the adventurous (there may be other, more accessible routes that I did not experience and that I’m not aware of).

Hidden in the mountains between Granada and Almunecar, wonderful green water pools, very few people there. Great place to enjoy relaxing dives!
