Prao de la Paul is a nice easy stroll from Laguardia. Take the elevator down from the main road and then follow the signs, all very well signposted. It's a calm and tranquil walk, although you don't actually get very close to the water. There are a few bird-viewing spots and spots where you can climb to get a better view.
If you want to go further you can head for lagunas Carrologroño and Carravalseca. It's quite well signposted but when you get to the main road make sure you follow the actual signs and pick up the trail on the other side. If you follow Google maps it will send you down the main road instead (not as much fun as I learnt to my cost!).

These lagoons are only a 10 minute walk from the walled town of Laquardia. We had a cool, pleasant walk here one afternoon. my husband, who is a birder, found some nice birds here.

Laguardia is an amazing walled town high in the hills of the Rioja region and is the capital of the Rioja Alavesa region
Full of narrow streets with interesting doorways - all wheeled traffic is banned from within the walls as all the buildings have wine cellars under the streets
Well worth a meander through the narrow alleys and streets
Plenty of eating and drinking places to choose from

The small town of Laguardia with its wineries is located in the Basque region of Rioja Alavesa. The town is located on a hill from which you have a good view of the large vineyards. The church of Santa Maria and the old town hall are also worth seeing.
