Explore the classic wines and food of the La Rioja region on a 9-hour wine tour from San Sebastian, visiting three local wineries for tastings at each location. Your day in La Rioja also features an elegant Spanish picnic accompanied by crianza wine at a fourth winery, as well as time to explore the picturesque medieval village of Laguardia. Iglesia de Santa Maria de los Reyes is the main church of Laguardia, a wine town in La Rioja-Alavesa, in Basque Country. It was began to built in 12th Century in Romanesque-style, but it was finished in 15th in Gothic-style. It is very nice, and you can go there in old streets seeing the church. Pitifully it was closed, when we visites the town in October. This is a very impressive tour. The art and architecture is superb. The lady at the office where you get the tickets speaks Spanish and not much else. Someone in your group needs to understand the language for the tour.

Loved the exterior of this beautiful old church, but unfortunately it was closed when we visited. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed being there and liked pretty unusual sculptures near the side wall of the church: the tables with old shoes and bags. Do not know what they really mean, but they were fun to look at.

The church is as old as time and has gained its nobleness through acting as sentinel to its unique position.

Construction started on this church in the 12th century, and it is impressive. Tours are available but only in Spanish. However, and English translation is available
