    Arenal d’en Castell beach -lovely
This beach has beautiful deep light brown sand. The water is clean and clear. There are adequate parasols and loungers at €17.50 per set. Near the rocks snorkelling has lots of fish.

    Family friendly beach
Lovely sandy horse shoe shaped bay, safe and ideal for families. We went in September which was perfect for the weather not being too hot. A lot of jellyfish in the sea sadly with lots being washed up on the beach.

    Nice Quiet Location
Great resort but very quiet once away from the hotel complex. The hotel complex are set for families. Ideal if you want a slow pace of life and over the age of 60. There is one bar that is livelyish called "The Outback" and is worth a visit, there are few restaurants in the area that are worth a visit.

Oh wow, what a gorgeous beach this is! The water is lovely and warm and clear.

The sand is lovely and golden.

My 14 year old son really enjoyed swimming & exploring the water. Apparently there were a lot of fish to see!

Definitely recommend

The su beds are €17.50 for 2 and an umbrella. We bought some chairs from a supermarket for our 10 day stay

We drove from one side of the island to the other to find this beach and it was incredible. Soft sand like velvet, so clean and the sea was perfectly clear and a lovely temperature. You can stand for so long before it gets deep. The beach is backed by a choice of lovely restaurants too.

This really is a fantastic family friendly beach. The sand is gently shelving so it doesn’t get too deep to quick if you have little ones. I did see a review mention no sun beds, whilst we were in the area the sun beds and parasols were set up so I think it may just not be there early/pre season. It’s nice to swim around the rocks and see the sea life, but with such a big beach you can enjoy a dip anywhere. Nice range of bars and restaurants on the beach if you want a bit of time to cool down.

The beach at Arenal d'en Castell is by far one of best on the island. The sandy horseshoe shaped bay is ideal for swimming and there is a lifeguard on duty during the holiday season.

To avoid the steps down to the beach, use the car parks by the Aqua Marina Hotel and then walk along the new Boardwalk that was built in 2014, giving good disabled access.

There are Beach Bars/Restaurants and toilets at both ends of the beach.

New water faucets have been installed to wash the sand off your feet when you leave the beach.

One the face of it this is a nice looking beach, however it seems to suffer from plastic along the shoreline. My daughter and I sent 30 minutes picking plastic along a 200m stretch (if everyone pick up some up we could make a real difference...)

We were also disappointed that some people - adults and children alike - seem to delight in killing the jellyfish that floated along the shoreline, kids throwing them onto the sand, and a 60-year old chap spearing them on a bit of bamboo. While they can sting, these animals have as much right to be there as we do. There were not that many, and one could clearly see them so simply walk or swim around them. Parents, please teach your children to respect nature, and adults, role model that respect for nature!!

The jellyfish in the picture was released unharmed...

About 20 km north-west of Menorca's capital Mahon, and the international airport, lies the pretty coastal town of Arenal d'en Castell. There are hotels and holiday villa complexes here, but we rented a delightful villa called Bellavista II, right on the coast with superb sea views overlooking the beach.
This isn't a prime tourist resort, but there are good bars and good value restaurants, and we dined out every night. Canoes and pedaloes are available for rental in the roughly circular bay, and we made good use of these facilities. There are shops and supermarkets which stock everything you'll need if you prefer to self-cater.
We hired a car for the week, as we wanted to explore the whole island, but there public transport buses, taxis, and organised tours if that is what you prefer. The taxi fare to/from Mahon or the airport is about 35 Euros for 4 persons.
There are some quite nice walks in the vicinity, but you'll need a car to venture further afield. Another means of touring for those in good fitness, is cycling. Menorca, and particularly this area, has excellent small roads suitable for cyclists, and these are a common sight.

We went end of October, so end of season really. This meant no pedlos, no sunbeds etc but what it did mean was a quiet empty clean calm beach to play and swim. Beautiful sunshine and only one bar open on the beach which served just what we needed. It is a bit of a walk up and down the steps but not too bad.

Arrived here in September 2018 in a group of 4 - myself, my husband and 2 teenagers (16&15) When we got out of Mahon airport the sun and heat was perfect. After a 40 minute transfer we arrived at our hotel (Sa Miranda) which had a perfect location. We arrived around 10am and assumed our rooms wouldn’t be ready that early but they were so we got changed straight away and just chilled by the pool the whole day. We were self catering (our first ever s/c holiday and to be honest we wouldn’t do again). We visited quite a few restaurants throughout our stay:
Goody Goody - amazing views right on the beach front, lots of tables and space, many staff who were friendly, arcades/pool tables/trampolines/go karts plenty to keep younger children and older children occupied, large menu and great drink/cocktail list. Only thing bad about it was the food! Not good at all we hardly touched our food was disgusting and cost me around €80 This was including a couple of drinks aswell but not worth it at all since it was that bad. We did however go to Goody Goody every night on the way back home to our hotel but only for drinks and the pool tables/arcades
Outback: very very busy so couldn’t manage to get a table even after climbing up all the stairs looking forward to a good night with food drinks and the drag show
Romani: myself and my husband popped in here for a cocktail while the kids were shopping. Excellent view of beach area with friendly staff and good priced drinks
Snack Bar S’Arenal: Found this amazing hidden gem at the very end of the Beach Boardwalk and we loved it. Yet again amazing views right on the beach. Had dinner here 3 times. Same man served us each night he said his name was Matthew. He was honestly the most nicest man we have ever met. So friendly and efficient he joked with us and just made us feel so special. We asked him to recommend something to try for the next night and it was Rabbit , so he told us to be there 7/7.15 and he would have it cooking away and reserved us a table. I honestly can’t fault this place on anything every night we all had something different and it was amazing and best part was it was half the price of everywhere else we had been.
Took a bus ride into town, at the wrong time may I add as they all shut for siesta so if your planning a trip check the best times to go as we only had about 2 hours then they shut. Was really pretty with lots of shops. Lots of nice eating areas we went into a small authentic Spanish place and had a good lunch in there(can’t remember the name) journey was cheap tho and around 40 minutes just wish we had more time before they all shut.
All in all Arenal d’en Castell was a beautiful place, beautiful beaches, coves and trails to explore, plenty of water sports, plenty restaurants, bars and shops. Beautiful weather. It is a very hilly area so people with mobility issues like myself will find it hard(I had my stick with me to help as I knew it was really hilly but still struggled a lot) but not recommended for wheelchairs and severe mobility issues. It’s not like your other islands (ibiza/Majorca) it’s not your young lively party clubbing destination. If your looking for a relaxing holiday with plenty of sun then this is the place for you.

A beautifully soft sandy beach with parasol and sunbeds (although a bit steep at €17 for two!), a really lovely very gradually inclining beach and beautifully clear water. I went with my 2 year old and 9 month old who both loved paddling in the water, and it was great for 2 year old who could wade quite far in thanks to how shallow it was.

We rented a pedalo one day for €15 for an hour, which they let us split across 2 days thanks to short attention span of toddler!

Theres also paddle boarding and kayaks to hire.

Foot showers at steps to/from beach, and bins on the beach (a positive, not a negative).

This is a beautiful bay, gently shelving sea from a very clean sandy beach, plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas although compared to other beaches we have been on they are a little on the expensive side.
