This is a pleasant beach on Western Port Bay but not the best by far. It can have sea weed and the foreshore area is not as well developed as some along Western Port or Port Phillip Bay across the Peninsula..

This is a long and wide beach which is an absolutely lovely place for a long romantic walk. Easily accessible from a car park close to the beach.

Visited on Thursdat 13th February, just one of many beautiful beaches on Mornington Peninsular that we visted for a walk along the sand.

As an interstate visitor, found it hard to get excited; still very cold by comparison to Queensland beaches and it lacks the beautiful coastline. Relatively isolated and pristine, probably good for peace and quiet and taking a long walk

The swell does need to be big but occasionally you can get a reasonable and quite uncrowded surf as everyone heads for the more consistent breaks. The beach usually has a fair amount of weed but it is the small leaf variety that collects in drifts. The water is usually clean.Nice beach for a walk with cliffs at the Flinders end.

No doubt there are better beaches but taking a stroll along Merricks Beach is an ideal winter experience to get fresh air into the lungs. It can be deserted if you get your timing right; mid-week is good.

Merrick's Beach is a small "cabin" community near Balnarring on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. The beach has a public parking area and toilets and there are a couple of shops nearby. The beach is wide and the water depth shelves gradually so it is safe for young and old. At the time we visited it was not patrolled, but as there is no surf, there are no rips so normal swimming precautions apply.

If you want a quieter beach thats a bit more off the main track Merricks beach is beautiful. Its not as pristine as some but its rugged and peacful, a lovely place to walk.

very calm beach that is a great spot to introduce the kids to the beach due small waves. popular with beach fisherman.
TIP: car park just before Merrick Yacht Club with path that leads down to beach. Or head further east to Cliff Rd
