This is a free museum. The special collection is only available for a few weeks at a time and only a few times a year, the next time is in March. That said, it is free so there isn't much reason not to visit.

This place is nothing to write home about but worth a stop if you are visiting Ueno Park. The art is not memorable, but the house with a marbled balcony stairs and charm is charming.
