I was amazed of the traditional and very easy going atmosphere of the session. Jiro Sensei & Ray San were very hospitable and looked after me. A great beginner's introduction into samurai, interactive & easy going session.
Very suited to the local theme of the Asakusa Region, would recommend :)
Location may be hard to find - google redirected me to the back of the venue. The front entrance is near "Tokyo Riverside School" - as attached pic. Wait there and message the tour operator to be let in. The studio is in an apartment above.
Great value all round.

This experience was pure awesomeness. You get to dress up like a samurai and get basic training on using the katana, and then get to have a training fight with pics and video recording. Epic! Jiro and Maho were so nice and very patient with me.

My husband and I went to this location for a Japanese samurai experience we used to see only on TV. We started with a photo session. There is a guy who dressed us up first and then he took a lot of pictures of us, very professional ones.
Then we went with a different guy who taught us different techniques of handling the sword and fight.
On the minus side is finding the location was a little challenging. There is no sign or anything. Luckily we took lunch at a Ramen Restaurant close by and we asked the crew there and they guided us to a shoe store Venis. The shoe store crew guided us in the back for our samurai experience.

Jiro sansei shows us how to be a samurai step by step. You can experience dressing up a kimono, how to use a katana, and fight like a samurai with Jiro sansei. In the end, you will be taught a series of actions and a video to be filmed. It's a memorable experience to share with family and friends. Highly recommend for those interested in Japanese culture and want to dive in more.

We had an absolute blast! We learned the basics of using a katana, and got to try some fighting scenarios with a very supportive teacher and then against each other. The clothes, music, and photos and videos provided made our experience even more special.

It’s my birthday trip to Tokyo and I wanted to do something special on my birthday. Thank you for such a wonderful Samurai experience. The team is dow-to-earth and it’s easy to communicate with the team in English. Sensei provided step-by-step guidance for us to learn some basic Samurai techniques. It was so much fun to take videos of our Samurai fighting. This also includes free digital copies of the photos. This experience worths every penny. We want to join this experience again and learn more Samurai skills next time when we come to Tokyo again.

I had a great experience at Asakusa Ukonya! I was slightly nervous before going but Tomo-san made me feel so relaxed and comfortable throughout the experience. She did such a great job with the makeup and helped me pick the perfect outfit. The photographer-san helped with the photo posing and took great pictures! Leaving with great memories and photos/videos.

The class from beginning to end was amazing. The personalized training for me and my father was spot on. Our sensei was beyond patience, funny, and helpful. We never felt rush and the experience was worth every penny. I will be returning. The extra gifts at the end was an amazing keep sake and me and my dad was grateful for the wisdom and time spent with our teacher.
