I walked to Mejiro Garden from Ikebukuro and was glad this was my first stop. Even though nothing is blooming or growing in June, the nice pond with koi, ducks, etc. and the escape from the city is totally worth it. I did not pay...More

Since this site got such high marks, I paid the ticket to go through the giant park. Note, the ticket is valid only until closing 5pm? it's not 24 hours. If you want a quiet escape from Tokyo for a short while, it is a...More

Hidden in an residencial area this small gem is found. Enter the garden and the calm hits you instantly. Its a perfect spot for a nice lunch, to read a book, a nice conversation or maybe just for some time to wind down. Highly recomended!

Mejiro park was OK am for a stroll through walkways surrounded by trees, but you don't walk through the woods, there wasn't much obvious wildlife apart from a lot of other people escaping the city heat.

When I first heard of Mejiro Garden I had imagined it would have been much larger. However it had a serene atmosphere and the pond with waterfall offers a soothing ambience in the middle of Ikebukuro. It really is tucked away between regular houses, but...More
