- Ryan BAtlanta, Georgia944 contributionsCold beer and panoramic views! This is a great place to come for beautiful views of the city and fantastic, cold Asahi beers! It is located on the 22nd floor of the Asahi HQ which is the building next to the large gold beer statue (locals refer to it as the golden poop). It is not large so I recommend to get there early and it offers panoramic views of the city and river while you drink great beer. I was taking a walk through the Senso-Ji temple in the morning and Asahi is less than a 5 minute walk across the bridge. I got there at 1130 when it opens and it was packed when I left an hour later. This is a great spot for a break from the crowds and to refuel on Asahi!Visited January 2024Traveled soloWritten January 26, 2024
- John and Deb KKarratha, Australia822 contributionsBetter Alternative to the Sky Tree For UsAfter a visit to Sensoji temple we walked up to the Asahi Beer Headquarters, it was a pleasant stroll across the river under the train line. Around the back of the main building and up the elevator, we got there at 11:30,we went into the bar, it is quite small from the pictures I had seen previously I thought it was going to be much larger. Anyway when you enter you order your food and beer or you can also get wine then find a seat as stated we were there early so got a good seat over looking Tokyo. We sat enjoyed the view and ate and drank. We left about 12:30 and found there was a line waiting outside to get in as I said it is only small. We went here as the Sky Tree charges, you have to pre-book and you still need to wait in line. Ok we were not as high as being in the sky tree but we were sitting back relaxed and all the money we spent went on food and drink!Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 31, 2024
- Raintree_ThailandBangkok, Thailand4,289 contributionsThe best spot in Asakusa! There are two things that are noteworthy about the Asahi Headquarters. First is the iconic "golden poop" (supposedly designed to represent the "burning heart of Asahi beer" and a nice frothy head, but acquiring a more down-to-earth nickname by most). The second is the 22nd floor Asahi Sky Room, which offers good beer and snacks for reasonable prices and a great view of the city. - curmudgeonlydriftEdinburgh, United Kingdom59 contributionsI'm a little ashamed to say that this was one of my Tokyo Highlights !Great view over Tokyo from a special location in the "head" of the Asahi HQ, looking down over Starck's strange creation. After a lot of hot and tiring sight seeing this was a great fun break. Small, but with great views. I'd skip the food and if you're hungry, got to the Annex at the base of the building for more choice.Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 28, 2024
- Deanosaur89Edmonton, Canada8,617 contributionsEnjoyed the visit a lotI walked here from the Tokyo Skytree area and thought I would have a quick visit to take a picture of the Asahi Flame "Golden Poop" but I spent more time here than I had planned. There is a good area to get pictures of the Tokyo Skytree and a lady walking home from work offered to take some pictures of me because I was alone. I spent a few minutes walking around the plaza and then felt while I was there I should try some Asahi beer! There are some restaurants at the ground level but I did some searching online and found out there is the Asahi Sky Room inside the Asahi Beer Headquarter Building that offers panorama views of the area and is a great vantage point to see the Asakusa area including the Senso-Ji Temple (which I walked to after). I went around 4:30 pm, put my name down and got in for a nice large Asahi beer and some sausage within 20 minutes. I really enjoyed this place and have been recommending my friends to go here if they have time and are planning to go to the area. There are big attractions within walking distance and why not drink a nice cold beer? I spent an hour and a half total in the area including the plaza, drinking a beer and going across the bridge to get photos across the river.Visited December 2023Traveled soloWritten September 1, 2024

We walked across the river and used it as a landmark to guide us to the building, because we came to visit the Sky Room. The Sky Room is definitely worth a visit (see my review for details). The building is really just a corporate headquarters, so you won't find anything of interest in the lobby. There was still a little time before the Liberty Ryomo train departed from Asakusa, so I decided to take a walk. From Azumabashi towards Honjo, the Asahi Beer Headquarters building towered over me. Next to the skyscraper, designed to resemble a mug of beer, was the Super Dry Brewery, often mockingly referred to as the "U-XX Building." Its innovative design makes it hard to believe it was built more than 30 years ago.

There are only two things to see here:
1. The Golden Flame artwork atop the building
2. The Asahi Sky Room on the 22nd floor
You can see the flame artwork from all around. We walked across the river and used it as a landmark to guide us to the building, because we came to visit the Sky Room.
The Sky Room is definitely worth a visit (see my review for details). The building is really just a corporate headquarters, so you won't find anything of interest in the lobby. Once inside, find the dedicated elevator to the 22nd floor and then go directly to the Sky Room for a beer and a panoramic view of Tokyo!

One of the most photographed places in Tokyo, we stopped to get a pic. Otherwise, there's not much exciting here.
The "golden flame" (which locals refer to as the "golden poop") is a symbol of good luck, and it sits on the building next to the Asahi headquarters, which is designed to look like a well-poured glass of beer.
Do NOT make a special trip here. But if you are nearby, at least you will know what you're suppose to "see" when you look back over the river at these 2 buildings.

Having been dragged around by my wife looking at dozens of shrines and temples for me there was one that stood out .. the temple of beer .. The Asahi Building.. Looking like a smooth pint ( I have no idea what the point of the flame is but hey ho ! ) it stands proud by the river . Costing absolutely nothing to get in you get the elevator 23 rd floor .. The views are amazing and the beer …. Awesome… Treat yourself to the giant glass of nectar and take in the scenery.. Nothing like it ! They do serve some food ( we had the sausage platter .. Was fine ) but it’s the brew why your there . It’s blooming marvellous. Comes highly recommended.. Enjoy !

Wow, 5 dollar beer and a wonderful view of Tokyo and the Sumida River. Don't spend your yen on the Sky Tower. It's in an office building next to the Akasuka shrine just across the river. Follow the big gold chili pepper and go up to the 21st floor, escalator takes you to the bar. Try the Black Extra Cold...can't get it in the U.S.

i went up here as I went to see the nearby temples and it seemed like a fun thing to do... the building itself is indeed something else with the big gold turd on top... but my advice is to resist the temptation to go inside and have a beer. It will not improve your perception of Asahi beer - rather the opposite! A cheesy beerhall from the 70, no-one in it, no English speaking hosts.
what a missed opportunity for Asahi! come on guys - pick up your game!!

We accidentally walked by Asahi Beer Headquarters after visiting the tower, my husband is a big fan and insisted to go in.
we had our lunch scheduled, so we only went in for beer. There were 5 of us and there were only two other parties in the restaurant. (Many empty seats). We ordered two large beer since our 3 kids are not beer fans. One of the servers came to ask 3 of our kids to leave if they are not drinking. Our nephew ordered an non-alcoholic beer which tasted terrible. two of our sons just walked out and waited outside. I could only say if it is busy, I totally understand, Or the server could have ask nicely, my husband will definitely have more than one beer. Anyways, I didn't finish my beer and we rushed out. Lost revenue to them and a terrible experience.
I will not recommend anyone to go there.. it is just like any other restaurants but with bad attitude.

Which building and what floor is the pub on?
Written August 12, 2016
Main Office building top floor. Just take the elevator to the top and the escalator the last floor. There are also some restaurants there. They also have a pub on ground floor outside the main building but this wasen't open when I was there

Hi Ann I think the hours are from 10:00 AM to 10 PM their phone number is 03-5608-5277 if you would like to call. If your calling from the U.S. it would be 011-81-3-5608-5277. However I think they would answer the phone in Japanese.
