We visited the top floor bar in the morning on one of our last days, and the views from the bar are absolutely incredible. If you go early it’s very quiet, so you’ll more or less have the place to yourself. The beer was cold, it was free to get in (and the beer wasn’t expensive, or at least wasn’t the most expensive that I’ve seen), and it has some of the best views of Tokyo that we saw the whole time we were there (we didn’t visit Skytree, which I’m sure is better but on balance, Asahi is probably better as it wasn’t rammed and we only spent on beer). Lovely way to spend an hour or so in Tokyo one morning.

Wow, 5 dollar beer and a wonderful view of Tokyo and the Sumida River. Don't spend your yen on the Sky Tower. It's in an office building next to the Akasuka shrine just across the river. Follow the big gold chili pepper and go up to the 21st floor, escalator takes you to the bar. Try the Black Extra Cold...can't get it in the U.S.

I really like that you can get some fresh draught beer as well as some desert and small snacks and have a great view of Sumida Gawa (River). The service at the bar is great as well the food and drink.

i went up here as I went to see the nearby temples and it seemed like a fun thing to do... the building itself is indeed something else with the big gold turd on top... but my advice is to resist the temptation to go inside and have a beer. It will not improve your perception of Asahi beer - rather the opposite! A cheesy beerhall from the 70, no-one in it, no English speaking hosts.
what a missed opportunity for Asahi! come on guys - pick up your game!!

We accidentally walked by Asahi Beer Headquarters after visiting the tower, my husband is a big fan and insisted to go in.
we had our lunch scheduled, so we only went in for beer. There were 5 of us and there were only two other parties in the restaurant. (Many empty seats). We ordered two large beer since our 3 kids are not beer fans. One of the servers came to ask 3 of our kids to leave if they are not drinking. Our nephew ordered an non-alcoholic beer which tasted terrible. two of our sons just walked out and waited outside. I could only say if it is busy, I totally understand, Or the server could have ask nicely, my husband will definitely have more than one beer. Anyways, I didn't finish my beer and we rushed out. Lost revenue to them and a terrible experience.
I will not recommend anyone to go there.. it is just like any other restaurants but with bad attitude.

Stumbled on the 22nd floor beer room by accident. Originally intended to go to the Asahi Annexe building where beer is still brewed on site but took a wrong turn and ended on the 22nd floor of the Headquarters but with no regrets. For the price of a beer (you had to order at least one item to enter), you get a brilliant view of Skytree, Sumida river and most of Tokyo. We went at day break so saw Tokyo slowly light up. You get a good view from above of the Sensoji (Asakusa Kannon) temple as well, as it lights up in the evening.
We went on a Sunday on a very clear day and could actually see Mount Fuji in the distance. It's waling distance from Sensoji temple, directly across the Sumida river

A local secret. We take our visitors to the small pub at the top that overlooks Sumida River. If you time it right you can see the sunset along with Mt. Fuji (if windy), the winding Sumida, Asakusa Kannon temple, and now Sky Tree. The bathrooms also have views of Tokyo Bay and Tokyo Tower. Not to mention the freshest Asahi you will ever drink!!

This is a much better alternative to the nearby Skytree if you are looking for a place with an excellent view of the area overlooking the Sumida River. The bar is located in the yellow building on its 22nd floor (take the elevator up to floor 21 and then take a nearby escalator to floor 22). The drinks are reasonably price and there is also a decent food menu if you are hungry. This is a great place to rest your feet and get one's bearings. Note you can see the Sensoji temple from here.

Don’t be lured into thinking that you can enjoy a nice glass of Asahi draft beer on the top floor of the building. It is reserved ONLY for tour groups. My wife and I ended up having lunch and craft beer sampling on the bottom floor. It was overpriced and nothing special. The room is dark and dungeon-like. Not what I expected. Unless you are going to sign up for a tour (not worth it) just be happy with a picture of the golden flame from across the red bridge.

If you go into the Asahi main building, take the elevator to the 21st floor and the escalator to the 22nd floor. Here you'll find the sky room. This is a bar you can enter for free, order an Asahi beer (or something else) and enjoy a nice view over Tokyo.
In my opinion this is a good alternative for the skytower. It is not as high, but high enough for a good view over the city. Sometimes skytower is too high and you are in the cloud. This place has no entrance fee, but you can see only 180 degrees instead of a full 360 degrees around.
From the 21st to 22nd floor there is no elevator but an escalator, so is not reachable when you are in a wheelchair.

Main Office building top floor. Just take the elevator to the top and the escalator the last floor. There are also some restaurants there. They also have a pub on ground floor outside the main building but this wasen't open when I was there

Hi Ann I think the hours are from 10:00 AM to 10 PM their phone number is 03-5608-5277 if you would like to call. If your calling from the U.S. it would be 011-81-3-5608-5277. However I think they would answer the phone in Japanese.
