An Unforgettable Honeymoon
Aug 2018 • Couples
Our travel agent booked us a private sushi lesson, and our class was amazing! It was about $20 or 20,00yen cab ride from the Tsukiji market which my hubby and I explored first on our own.

During class we made rice and miso soup from scratch, and three types of sushi- a roll, sashimi, and a fried tofu rice ball. It was truly the highlight of our trip! After our lesson we ate- mouth watering- with fresh wasabi we ground ourselves. Our teacher was so sweet and knowledgeable, she even brought out pickled ginger and plum wine she made just for us to try! She made our sushi experience even more unforgettable by including a special wedding gift!

There are many classes there, not just sushi. She told us there's also Ramen and Goyza, plus many others. Our travel agent informed the teacher that my husband has food allergies, and they were very accommodating. If you’d like to learn something that’s not listed you can probably ask for that type of class.

Ps-there's an AC, but since you're cooking in front of you it was still a little warm so dress cool

Thank you for your review! It was such an honor to be able to give a class on your special trip. I hope you enjoyed trying new things and learnt enough to held a sushi party at home in New York someday:) Please contact us anytime if you have any questions about sushi or miso soup making. I will devise ways to let people stay and cook more comfortably in the room especially in this extremely hot summer. Thank you so much for your opinion! Enjoy the rest of your trip and make lots of fantastic memories on your honeymoon trip!

An unforgettable experience!
May 2018 • Friends
I received this recommendation from a friend and I am so glad I followed her suggestion! My childhood friend came to visit from the U.S. and wanted to learn some Japanesse dishes. My friend, my 13 YO daughter and I went together. Nahoko san is just lovely. She is patient and kind yet thorough and encouraging. We made homemade Miso soup and gyoza. I will definitely make this again for my family. The recipe is easy to understand and Nahoko san's English is amazing. Not only did we all have a great time together, the food tasted fantastic and we have a wonderful memory to share. I will definitely return for another class soon!

A unforgetable day in Tokyo!
Jan 2017 • Friends
We truly enjoyed this cooking class! We were first given samue to wear, after that we prepared 4 dishes. (Oyakodon, Miso soup, two small greens). Ouchi san guides us from one dish to the next, making us feel relaxing like at home. If you interested to the Japanese culture, don't miss it!

Great solution for a rainy day
Nov 2017 • Solo
As a first timer in Tokyo I️ wanted to make the best of the experience and taking this class has been the best part so far. Nahoko is a wonderful teacher and great person to get to know. While we cooked she took the time to explain to me the different components of the meal and its relevance to the Japanese culture. Nahoko took pictures while I️ cooked and provided me a list of places that I️ should see while I am in town. This was an amazing experience and I️ am so glad I️ took the time to do it.

Relaxed yet enriching cooking class
Sep 2017 • Family
I came for the cooking class alone but was joined by my husband and son for the meal. I have never felt so relaxed cooking. Nahoko is a great trainer and a host. As I opted for the halal dietary requirements, she not only went out of the way to ensure the appropriate ingredients were prepared but also adviced me on how to purchase those ingredients. The kitchen gadgets used were so cool that I went to kappa bashi after the class to buy them. I would defintely come back in a heartbeat for another class....And would love to explore ryogoku too!

Thank you for your warm comment! I'm very glad to read that you felt relaxed at the class. I'd love to make my classes open to all people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. If you could enjoy Japanese cooking and dishes without any worries about the ingredients, I'm extremely happy about it. Please come back to enjoy playing with Japanese unique kitchenware again and watching Sumo at the stadium in Ryogoku! (The sumo tournaments are held in Ryogoku on January, May and September.)

Highlight of our Tokyo trip
Aug 2017 • Family
Our host Nahoko is very nice and patient, providing my family (14, 11 and 8-year old boys) with detailed instructions. We learned the cooking technique as well as culture in a fun infused way. We realized that even a miso soup can be so complicated and tasted so well. We got to make wasabi from the original plant. We all love the food we made ourselves and dessert! This is a highlight of our trip!

Fun filled cooking class with great hospitality
Jun 2017 • Couples
The school is located in typical Tokyo district. Atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. We enrolled in the basic Japanese Rice Ball (Onigiri) course but were also taught how to make Japanese egg omelet roll, miso soup, & deep fried chicken. The instructor speaks excellent English and the process was lots of fun. We enjoyed our own work and they were tasty! Highly recommended.

Most Fun I Had In Tokyo!
May 2017 • Couples
This is an absolute must do for anyone interested in a cooking class. I took a lesson here with my girlfriend. We have taken several cooking classes before but this was by far the most personal and intimate. The school is run and owned by the instructor Nahoko, who is very flexible and will allow you to change menu items without charging a large fee, unlike a lot of the big cooking schools. Nahoko is an extremely friendly person, she speaks English well, and she was able to make our class exciting and fun while still being informative. If your looking for an evening of laughs, stories, information, and a delicious home-cooked meal, this experience is not one to miss!
