The location is right below the JR line, around 10 minutes walk from the station. The place is quite hard to find since you have to pass through a construction site and a almost ghost town-ish arcade
Many of the stores in the streets have closed, and not of a lot of people are visible during the weekdays
One cafe which seems to be a voice actress cafe seems to be the only one doing decent business.
I don't know how long it will last, but they do have a new horror type maze

Asagaya Animation Street is now closed. All the shops that had anime-related stuff is completely gone. It has has now known as Aluuk (I hope that is the right translation) and is just another generic Tokyo shopping street. There is a bakery, English school, nail salon, cafe and a couple more. I honestly think the average tourist will have no interest in it especially as the main shopping area around Asagya would probably better suit their needs.

Few store opened . If you want shopping I recommend "Nakano Broadway". If you want to know history of anime "Suginami Anime Musium".

Turned up early afternoon on a Wednesday and everything was closed. Looking at the plan of shops it appears most of the original retailers have closed and left - and it shows. The street is mostly now used as a cycleway.
