A lovely spot; knowing the history makes it even better
Apr 2016
A very nice smaller shrine in Yotsuya not far from the police station, and a short walk east from Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. This shrine is compact, but there's a lot to see in every corner. It will help if you know a bit about its history before visiting - you'll appreciate it more. Certainly a must-see for ghost-tour travelers. They also have a very pretty goshuin. Understanding the etiquette for visiting shrines will make the visit a more pleasant one as well; knowing what to expect and how to behave at a shrine helps make the experience a more enriching one. One of my favourite smaller shrines.

Getting to kknow Japan

The Tori gate here is splendid...temple is peaceful, the serenity is what this is all about in my opinion, and forms the backbone of Japanese society.
