Hi, There were 3 of us when we visited Tokyo. We went free and easy for 4 days. We took the train and visit as many cities that we can cover. Go visit Asakusa and try the tempura. There is a famous temple there. Then take a ferry to Odaiba where you will pass the Rainbow Bridge. Odaiba is where the gigantic Gundam is. But I dont know if Gundam is still there now. Your kids will love the laser show at night. Be brave to venture. You can get the map to the cities from your hotel. If you are into art, then visit the Sompo building where you can witness the famous Sunflower painting by Van Gogh and other artists. If I am not wrong, its on the 43rd floor and its closed on Mondays. Do confirm with the hotel. They may be able to help you make some calls. Harajuku is 1 place which is also interesting. If you like shopping, visit Isetan and Uniqlo in Shinjuku. We went to Tokyo Disneyland but regretted. Nothing interesting except for the laser show at night. Universal Studio in Osaka is better. Wake up early and start touring cities after cities and cover as many as you can. Be careful as you may need to change train stations a few times to get to your destinations. Just plan your destination and stick to your timing as you dont want to miss the train back. Taxi is expensive there. Download an English-Japanese translation app to standby. You definitely need it. When we went there, it was raining season. So, standby a raincoat.
