Satoko was originally recommended to me by a coworker who had a positive experience. The Tsukiji market tour she gave me and my now husband was one of the highlights of our first visit to Tokyo. I've used Gaijin Tours since for a recent corporate offsites (New Year's Shrine tour) and custom tours as well. My father and step-mother have also used Gaijin Tours! Satoko is incredibly knowledgable, and sincerely interested in sharing Japan with visitors. I also find the tour prices highly reasonable.

Last year we made four day tours with Satoko to discover Tokyo and it was a fantastic experience. She has a great knowledge and unrivalled love for traditional Japanese culture but she is also familiar with modern Japan, being able to offer the best of both worlds. She was a friendly and enjoyable company from the human point of view, very generous with her time and always trying to give more than a simple touristic package. She is an invaluable asset to feel part of Japan which we decisively recommend to anybody wishing to visit Japan. We stayed in touch since then, and when we go back to Japan, it will not be without Satoko since she is an extra gift on top of the beauties of her country. Don't hesitate, go for Satoko and enjoy!

The tour was great. The guide (Satoko) was very nice and informative. She also taught us how to use the subway and train systems along the way, which greatly enhanced the rest of our time spent in Japan.

Our guide was great and very helpful navigating the area. For the price though, especially compared to other izikaya tours available in Tokyo it was disappointing that the tour didn’t include any food or drinks, or have any baseline itinerary. In addition, you’re expected to pay for your guides food and drinks as well. Again, our tour guide was great company but overall this “tour” could use significant improvement.

We consider that your evaluation of this tour is not fair. We would like to object to your review. First of all, we would like to make clear that this is not an Izakaya tour. In the tour description, the section "What's included and not included" explains that the price "Does not include your food, drinks and table charges. Please cover your guide's food and drinks as well." We did let you know about the details on the itinerary and what is NOT included in the tour price, when we confirmed your booking. Also, we had sent the tour details several times. We also had asked you to confirm the details by replying to us. But you never replied to any of our emails. In the message sent to the customer, it clearly indicates that *Please kindly note that, as stated on the booking page, food and drinks are not included in the tour price and are payable in cash on the spot. We also have to ask you to cover the guide’s drinks and table charge for the bars during the tour." All customers have loved this private, friendly night experience. They have read and understood what the tour was about, with no misunderstandings so far. We are always honest, reliable, and responsible. We have pride and confidence in our professional guide's skills and deep knowledge about history, society and life. We provide excellent English conversational skills, and strive to provide great tours so that customers can have a great time and memorable experience.

Satoko guided my wife and I around Tokyo and showed us so many unique and interesting places that we could never have found alone. Her knowledge of Japanese history and culture meant we gained a real insight into this amazing country.
Unlike many guides, Satoko genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great time and that we would leave Tokyo with a greater understanding of Japanese culture.

I can not recommend Satoko highly enough - if you are in Tokyo and looking for a guide - look no further!

Satoko was a great host! She is very knowledgeable and very fun to hang out with. She took us to two very awesome bars in Golden Gai. I highly recommend this tour if you would like to truly experience Golden Gai as a local vs a tourist.

Of all the tour guides we worked with during our month-long trip to several countries, Satoko was absolutely our favorite. We began the tour with lunch in a restaurant known only to locals (and where English was not spoken) where we got to know each other on a personal level, and for Satoko to find out what we were interested in seeing. In addition to some of the "must see" places, she led us through back alleys to discover places that she was familiar with but that had few tourists. She is a perfect partner and travel friend, especially for those who want to explore Tokyo's eating and entertainment options - ALL of them. Satoko seems to know every inch of Tokyo! We spent three days with her and had a spectacular time. She is very energetic and knowledgeable and was a fantastic guide and friend for visiting Tokyo.

As this was a special place for me I wanted to ensure we had a one on one tour guide. After much reading ad research we chose Satoko. From the moment she met us promptly in our hotel with a big smile on her face we were hooked. We had been in touch advising her what we were interested in and she clearly explained the areas she was going to take us but also saying we could still add further input if we wanted anything more. She was so knowledgeable and it was a pleasure walking along with her and listening to the interesting facts old and new about Tokyo and Japan. We had a whole day with her and apart from the rain in the afternoon we did not stop except for a lovely lunch. I would highly recommend her, she speaks perfect English and has a way of explaining things so naturally you really get a clear sense of Japanese life. Thank you so much Satoko.

My husband was the smart one to book two tours with Satoko and so glad he did. We did the 3 hour walking tours of the Shinjuku area and Tsukjii Fish Market.

Satoko was very well versed in the history of the areas, answered our questions,
told us interesting facts and information that only you can get from a personal guide. She took us to her favorite places, showed us the good bars and restaurants, and which places to not visit which was very helpful when we went back to these areas later in the week.

The fish market was so much better with a guide as we were lucky enough to see the fish monger carve up a 320lb tuna obtained at auction that morning. Satoko helped us identify so many items in the 400 plus vendor market, guided us which vendors to sample from and led us to a wonderful sushi lunch.

The tour price was some of the best spent money of our trip. If you haven’t used a personal guide before, I highly recommend this lady.

We visited Tokyo in May/June and booked 2 tours with Satoko. The first was a night tour of the Shinjuku area in which we were shown all the main spots including Piss Alley, Kabukicho, and Golden Gai. Satoko as a guide was very informative and friendly, we visited a number of bars and enjoyed food, alcohol, and good conversation! The bars visited were where the locals go to drink and it was an awesome experience all round. I would highly recommend the tour if you are looking to get a real feel for the working class nightlife and drink the night away with the locals who were all super friendly! Satoko also recommend some more bars to check out by ourselves once the tour was over.

The second tour we did was a morning tour of the fish market. This again was a great experience, we learnt a lot and tried some weird and wonderful food! We toured the outer market first and then the inner one where we chatted with some of the workers and store owners.

You can really tell Satoko is very passionate about Japanese culture and I would highly recommend taking both tours if your in Tokyo. We exchanged information and hope to keep in touch.
