こちらはさくらトラムの面影橋停留所すぐある神社です。
ご祭神は、皇室の祖神で、日本国民の総氏神である天照皇大神（あまてらすおおみのかみ）との事です。
境内は綺麗に整備されていました。

神札は水稲荷神社でもらう

正式名称は天祖神社ですが、西早稲田天祖神社ともいわれます。
都電荒川線の面影橋から歩いて5分ほどで着きました。
1645年創建と歴史が古いと聞いてましたが、ちょうど例祭が行われていて、例年9月の第1土・日曜日に行われます。
ここは社務所がないので、神札をどこでもらうのか迷いましたが、神札は近くの水稲荷神社でもらいます。

住宅地の中にあって、静かな雰囲気が良いです。

旧源兵衛村の鎮守

豊臣家の家臣だった小泉源兵衛が「大坂夏の陣」で敗れた後、この地で隠れ住み源兵衛村を作った　1645年に村内に創建　その後1818年−1830年当時の村は28戸人口約100人だった
本殿がアクリル板越しに観れる

この秋も色付く銀杏の木

「西早稲田天祖神社」をご存じですか？ここは都電荒川線の面影橋駅南側の西早稲田の住宅街にある寺院です。
石鳥居をくぐると細長い境内、奥にこぢんまりとした社殿や神楽殿が真新しく感じました。これは修復したあとのものです。境内出入口にある由来には、豊臣家の遺臣・小泉源兵衛が大阪夏の陣、元和元年 (1615) の戦いに敗れ、この地に隠れ住み荒地を拓き、伊勢の内宮や外宮に参籠して霊感を受け、正保２年 (1645) に神社を創祀されたと記されていました。
静かで心が和みますね。

住宅地の中にある公園みたい

境内を囲う塀もないので、住宅地の中にある公園みたい。緑の屋根の本殿と銀杏の木がこれが神社であることを示しています。
大坂夏の陣の後、秀吉の遺臣、小泉源兵衛らがここに逃れ、荒地を開墾した地域で、その名残を示すものということです。

大きな樹木があるとても静かな神社です

　都電荒川線・面影橋駅の南方向に歩いて２分弱の静かな住宅地にあり、小ぢんまりした本殿前に大きな樹木があるとても静かな神社です。
　鳥居右手前にある「天祖神社の由来」によると
　祭神は天照大神で、創祀の正保２年 (1645) 以来、銀杏、欅の大樹の神木と共に、ここに住む人々を見守りながら参拝する人の心の支えとなって来た。
　とのこと。
　本殿前の銀杏や欅の大樹を見上げると、これからもここに住む人々や参拝する人を見守り、心の支えになっていくことと思います。

静かな神社

境内が広いので、夏休みはラジオ体操の集合場所になっているらしく、貼り紙がしてありました。境内に比べて、拝殿はこぢんまりした印象です。

新宿区早稲田鶴巻町に天祖神社がありました。天皇の祖ですから大変なものですよね。日本中にあります。街中にひっそりと建っていますが、本堂は真新しい木肌です。見ると奉納幕には平成２８年９月と書いてありました。建て替えでしょうか。新しいですね。静かにしておいてあげたいですね。

ちょっと込み合った住宅街の中にあります。でも神社の境内は広々としていました。杜などもなく見通しも良かったです。そのせいか、なんとなくがらんとした印象がありました。
