Neighborhood: Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.

Girls Shopping Haven
Dec 2019 • Couples
Looking for some winter clothing for my daughter here at Cecil McBee. So many other girly shops here- no place for the males. Can't find what she wants, going other shops..

Can’t say it was special
Feb 2018 • Couples
There are so many places to shop in Shinjuku and my wife even noticed this department store from the train station. She wanted to shop here and so we did and it was nothing special at all. She didn’t buy anything and said she could find much better and cheaper department stores in Beijing.

I wish I had more time
Feb 2018 • Couples
Stayed in Shinjuku area but still couldn’t find the maximum time I wanted to shop n walk around Lumine Est. So many choices! So many things to see! One man’s meat is another man’s poison, but if u love to eat, shop, browse n love everything Japanese mixed with Italian / french cuisines with fusion of western cultures, u can spend your whole time here looking and watching.

Department store
Nov 2017 • Solo
One of many many department stores and malls around the sprawling shinjuku station. This one leans more local and more mass market

Love the variety of shops and the safe court on levels 7 & 8! Great rainy day activity too!
Jan 2017 • Family
The restaurants on levels 7 & 8 are super cute and very varied! There are dessert cafes, an ippudo, the Smile Burger, all you can eat buffet, thai, chinese, italian etc etc. It's definitely worth checking out and i would recommend The Smile Burger or Ippudo! the clothing stores in here are also awesome and there is something for every one and every style! It's a great rainy day activity and there is a cute starbucks on one of the upper levels where you can sit and people watch the throngs of people in Shinjuku below! Every time i come to Japan i make sure i head to Lumine Est for shopping and Ramen and Burgers!

Shopping frenzy at JR Shinjuku
Apr 2017 • Friends
Lumine 1, 2 and Est are all located on the south and east sides of JR Shinjuku Station. Not surprisingly they are owned by JR. Slightly different appeal in each store, but with Isetan and Takashimaya and all the other department stores, you can work yourself up into a shopping frenzy. Maybe that is why there are so many Starbucks and other coffee shops, so you can rest and recharge. As with all the department stores, a good selection of restaurants.
