Kagurazaka was featured in the free WAttention Tokyo mag I picked up at the hotel. It was a delightful area, without the thronging crowds There are great little places along the main drag between Kagurazaka and Iidabishi Stations, with a wander around the surrounding lanes...More

Feels so much like a small town . Lots of little shops and restaurants a nice break from the vast city atmosphere.

Great place to walk around. Lots of restaurants and little cafes and food is really affordable without burning a big hole in your pocket. One of those places where you have to venture into small lanes to find 'gems'! Only down thing was a particular...More

Our hotel was in Iidabashi, next to Kagurazaka. One afternoon I walked by myself to Kagurazaka. There are so many cute, locally owned shops...a hat store, a senbei store, a dessert locale popular with locals...and walking along the cobblestone narrow streets you'll stumble upon a...More

The stoll up and down the main drag is not complete until you venture off into the narrow, winding cobblestone paths.

Many japanese restaurants and shops. It seems to be on the country and not in the middle of Tokyo. No problem to walk there alone in the middle of the night.

Area of little shops and restaurants with a feel of the old city. Nice to wander around and experience but not just for tourists

I visited here quite by accident recently. I was looking for a certain store or something and dropped in on this quaint area. It was very nice just walking around and looking at the stores and treading the cobblestone streets. Found some nice sweet shops...More

Very quiet and a good staging camp for anyone backpacking in Tokyo. Food in the neighbourhood is great, but for a more complete Japan experience, you'll definitely want to head out into other districts. The good news? There's a major subway station smack in the...More

Yotsuya / Iidabashi
Yotsuya and Iidabashi are areas that developed around
the outer moat of the Imperial palace. Nearby in
Kagurazaka, there is an old red-light district with a
photogenic feel evocative of the ambiance of old
Tokyo. Narrow paths with stone paving remain to this
day, and there are long-standing restaurants with
geishas and quaint old cafes in townhouse buildings.
