The area
Neighborhood: Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.

We used ASKAtours on three different occasions on our recent trip to Japan. First, they picked us up at Haneda International AIrport and took us to our hotel. The driver was waiting just outside customs, holding a sign with our name on it, which made it very easy to determine who our driver was. He spoke excellent English and insisted on taking all our luggage himself (2 large suitcases and 2 backpacks) and led us to his car. The vehicle was large and comfortable and I had plenty of room, even though I am over 6 feet tall. He provided a lot of information about what we were seeing as he drove us to our Yokohama hotel and dropped us off right at the door. Our next one was a 2 hour tour of Yokohama, starting from the hotel and ending at the cruise ship at the cruise terminal. ASKAtours had informed us four days earlier that the cruise terminal for our ship had been changed and assured us that they would double-check on that day so as to be sure we were taken to the proper cruise terminal. This was great because neither the cruise company nor our travel agent had told us anything about this. The driver arrived at the hotel about half an hour early, which was no problem as we were ready and waiting. There was a bit of a problem, because we had told ASKAtours that there would be four of us, along with all our luggage, but apparently they had not told the driver this. He was expecting only two and so the vehicle was a bit small; however, we were able to get everything in, even though it was a bit tight. The driver asked a lot of questions about what we would like to see and any thing specific we wanted to visit. We told him that none of us knew much about Yokohama and to do what he thought best. He showed us a lot and was very considerate about all of it. He also explained the sites that we did visit and make a definite attempt to show us the cherry blossoms. We ended up with a longer tour than the expected 2 hours, which was great. He dropped us off at the proper cruise terminal, right in front of the luggage pickup station for the ship. Our third trip was from our hotel at the end of our trip to go to Haneda International Airport. ASKAtours gave us their suggested pickup time and again the driver was at the hotel early. We were relatively close to the airport so this was a fairly short trip. The driver asked us what airline we were flying with and whether it was a domestic or international flight and then dropped us off at the appropriate entrance to the airport. He was quite friendly and courteous and, like the first driver, insisted on taking all our luggage himself. We were quite pleased with ASKAtours and their service and, other than the mix-up about 4 people on the tour rather than 2, had no problems whatsoever. We would not hesitate to recommend them to other traveller for both tours and taxi rides.

We - (6 adults with luggage) are interested in the 1/2 day private custom chartered taxi. Pick from Yokohama cruise terminal and drop off at Tokyo Narita airport. Is that possible? And how much will that costs?
