Top ways to experience Harajuku Station

The area

Address
Neighborhood: Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.

This super cute station is worth a visit. Located 3 minutes from Mijii Shrine and Takashita dori, which is the street where all the "cartoon looking kids" buy all their clothes

Simply put this is the train station at Harajuku. It is strategically located to such sites as Omotesando, Takeshita Street and Meiji Jingu Shrine.

For a station at a prominent place the facilities seem not to be adequate. There does not seem to be an elevator and we were forced to carry our stroller upstairs onto the platform. There also seems to be construction work going on when we went pass there.

The station itself is not an attraction. The surrounding is nice. You have the Meiji temple, the famous Takeshita street and a lot of stores downhill. But foi dont come for this place to see only the station.

Visit it soon or you’ll never have a chance!!!
Because it will be broken down very soon (within few months) and build a new one...
The original Harajuku station will disappear for good.

Very convenient station if you are trying to get to Meiji Jinga Shrine or Yoyogi Park. A very well laid out station with plenty of shops and eateries and connected to the Yamamoto Line and subway.
Well lit, clean and safe and very, very frequent trains.

This station is small and often crowded. Stop for Meiji Shrine and the shops at Omotesando. Oriental Bazaar is popular for souvenirs among tourists

Old fashioned train station used to go from Shibuya to Harajuku. Very busy - lots of people in and around the station.

Such a busy train station especially at the takeashia entrance! Beautiful exterior but be warned there are thousands of commuters at this point so be prepared for things to be a bit squishy!

This train station is a convenient location to get to Meiji Jingu Shrine and Takeshita-Dori. There isn't really a whole lot more to say about it.
