Neighborhood: Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.

Very entertaining, Unfortunately we arrived late and was only able to view the last couple of performances but thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is about the Ao no Dokutsu Illumination (November 22 - December 31)
Dec 2018 • Solo
Sorry, but this is about the Ao no Dokutsu Illumination. It is in the park and it does happen in front of NHK Headquaters, spanning from Yoyogi Park Zelkova Tree Line-Shibuya Koen-dori.

You can get access to here from Harajuku Station. Approximately a five minute walk.
I can tell you, at night it was just spectacular to see. During the day the park looks like it would be nice for a relaxing stroll.

Regardless of the time of year. There looks like there is plenty to do and see around here. And or just relax and just enjoy your day or evening.
But if you are around during the month of December, then it is a must see a night.
Simply beautiful.

Had a great tour guide. They have made great strides in terms of technology. When we went there they were launching their 8K UHD... their achieves also makes it great to get those old retro programmes...

A surprise highlight!

We stumbled across this after getting caught in the rain in Shibuya and we were so glad we did. A great insight into Japanese TV with lots of fun interactive things to do. It didn't matter that we weren't familiar with NHK or the shows, we enjoyed it anyway. I'm now obsessed with Segodon. It's not huge but great as part of a day in the area.

Awesome place for kids and adults!
Nov 2017
I've been watching NHK in the US for the last year. It was fun to finally visit their studio!

Lots of games and fun activities for kids.

Unfortunately everything was in Japanese. But it is still worth a visit!

Surprise detour on the way to Shibuya
Nov 2017 • Solo
Absurdly cheap for an attraction yet very fulfilling and educational. I enjoyed the quiz kiosks and the anime recording booths. Non-Japanese speakers may not enjoy this as much but it's still possible to have a lot of fun. I mean, there's Domo-kun!!

NHK fan

For those who love NHK would enjoy this place from little one to adult. It's not big but if you have time to kill in the area, I say it's worth the visit. For young children, I bet they have a blast; there are more than few thing to play around.

Just a children’s play centre really and nothing more
Aug 2017 • Solo
Children love this place, especially if they know the characters from NHK animated children’s shows. However, if you want to visit a television studio, don’t bother because you won’t learn anything whatsoever about Japanese broadcasting (or television in any way) or see anything about what goes on. It was free the day I visited, so at least I didn’t waste any money. They have toilets though, so there’s something.

Great.

Might not be interesting if you don't speak Japanese. It is more suitable for young children as it might not be entertaining for those who are +13 y/o.

Cool Place for Kids to Explore
Jul 2017 • Family
Even though everything is in Japanese (signs, instructions, games, etc.) this is still a fun place, regardless of the language one speaks. There are plenty of interactive things for kids, some of which they can do without reading kanji. If your kids like anime and all kinds of fun TV characters, they will love it! You can also be "on set" in one of the studios and an employee will take a picture of you / your family, which shows up on a screen with a Mt. Fuji backdrop. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to walk through, especially if you stop to play. If you're hungry, there is a fabulous (and very busy) cafe where you can get a great "full meal" lunch. We were glad we added this sight to our list!
