The area
Neighborhood: Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.

Decorate your own squishy and get an easy to carry clear plastic box to transport it in while it dries. You buy the base squishy which includes some basic supplies but you can add extras for additional cost. The directions are simple and in English. It takes around 30 minutes. You make reservations online in their system. The ladies were very friendly and welcoming and helped even our 9 year old create an artfully decorated squishy that she was thrilled with. It was a fun experience for kids but made a great Tokyo souvenir. Appropriate for any age but would be especially fun for a family with children.
