This onsen was wonderful. It says spa, but the reality is that it’s a sulfur onsen. There are separate male and female baths which is super important to me.

The outdoor pool is sulfur. And while the view leaves a lot to be desired, it’s really nice to get the experience of being outside in a Tokyo onsen. The black sulfur water is super cool. And if you’re feeling self-conscious will actually help hide your body.

There are 8 pools on the female side. Two are sulfur baths. There is one straight jacuzzi that’s very warm. There is a cold bath. And there is a really cool set of 4 baths with jets that are meant as therapy for sore muscles.

In addition, there are 3 saunas. One is a salt sauna where you can exfoliate. One is a regular hot sauna. And the final one is an aromatherapy humidity sauna. All three are wonderful.

In addition, there are massage services available for extra money, a restaurant, and a lounge with massage chairs and manga.

It’s a really cheap getaway. 1300 on weekends for five hours which drops to 1,080 after 9pm. And less than 1,000 yen on weekdays. It’s a fantastic deal around Tokyo.

The one caveat is I know the area well. So I always walk to it from Chitose Funabashi station. But there is a bus you can take that leaves every hour I believe. It’s only a 20 minute walk. But I totally understand if you would be nervous.

A taxi might cost 1,000 yen.

I would highly recommend.
