The area

Neighborhood: Haneda / Kamata
Haneda / Kamata is known for its airport with many hotels popping up with the increase in international flights. It’s also an area that offers many shrines and temples with ancient origins including Anamori Inari Shrine or Ikegami Honmonji temple which is visited by more than 300,000 people in October's Buddhist Oeshiki festival. The area around Kamata station is lined with restaurants and is lively until late at night. In particular, it’s known for the large collection of tasty gyoza specialists.

Came in and everything was closed it was only 2200hrs. Airport was empty due to COVID but it still was not a good experience with everything closed. Had no choice in coming here but it was an experience non the least. We came we saw and we flew on.

Usually when I fly to Tokyo I fly into Narita. This time as the fares where cheaper to Haenda we decided to take a flight there. Very nice airport. Easy to get to much closer to central Tokyo. Not sure why I havent flown here before. I will definitely use this airport next time

Had a one night layover in Tokyo. So needed to go through security to access a hotel close to the airport. Whilst airport staff are polite, their English is limited. There are multiple steps for a traveller to go through, its quite confusing if you don't speak Japanese. Very long process unfortately. Make sure you have your covid vaccination certificates and the address of your hotel handy at all times!

Just used the domestic terminal which is easy to get to and has short security lines with friendly staff (vs US). ANA lounge open with beer (cool dispenser), whisky and sake (not a good one), soft drinks and only rice crackers for a snack. Healthy green drink avail but a bit hard to get it down.

Haneda is Tokyo’s sister airport to Narita and is primarily for domestic flights.

If you have time go to the airport sky deck for fresh air and a view.

As an English only speaker it was easy to navigate and there are lots of people who can help. And then there’s always google translator.

I knew that if I searched I would find a shower facility at the Haneda Air Terminal. But, like everything in Japan, the reality far outweighed our expectations!! After checking out from the Tokyo Hilton Bay Hotel (please see my review on that hotel) in the morning and spending our last day at Tokyo Disney Sea all day, we felt grimy and sweaty, and didn't look forward to sitting in a plane for seven hours on our way home. We knew there was some type of shower at the airport so we packed a change of clothes ahead of time. We arrived at the airport and we couldn't check in yet, so I told my hubby and teenage son to look for the shower on the second floor while I watched our luggage (it's so safe in Japan & the airport provides free wifi for 3 hours). They returned so happy and clean. My son exclaimed, "Mom, you're going to really like it, they have Shiseido products!" Well, it was the best $10 for 30 minutes that I ever spent!! It's very easy to find as the sign simply states, "SHOWER." The staff was very helpful and thankfully spoke English. Each personal room is immaculate with clean towels, Shiseido shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner, and a blow dryer. I was so thankful to feel clean for my flight. As I exited my room, I saw a staff member scrubbing another room to be readied for another customer. I wish every airport would have a clean shower facility like at Haneda.

I would like to recommend Keisei Tokyo Shuttle Bus to travel from Narita Airport to Tokyo. I just spent only 900 yen this one-way service. The bus stopped in front of Tokyo Station, which the Tokyo Metro (Subway) was across the street.

If you must be stuck at an airport, Haneda is good place to feel the void. Nice lounge areas with reclinig chairs w/charge stations, wide variety of shops with goods and Japans favorite treats in ready decorative tins and boxes. Duty Free with plenty of options and even online predepature orders w/in airport pick-up

Haneda Airport has three terminal buildings and four runways. The airport is one of the busiest in the world so planes are constantly coming and going. Haneda recommenced international service fairly recently (2010) and some interesting international airlines fly in and out of Haneda but not as much as Narita. The best photographic location is from the international terminal observation deck or from the JAL terminal depending where the sun is. The ANA terminal also has a huge observation deck that looks out on to one of the four runways. Haneda is well worth visiting due to its close proximity to Tokyo City if you have arrived into the city from Narita airport. We visited Haneda on five separate occasions and will go back again in the future for sure.

The airport has free wifi and lots of shops you can spend more time here before your departure time.

Check observation deck on the 4th floor and character shops (Hello Kitty).

The goods from the gift shops are the same to the shops in the city.

If you're thinking to buy popular Japanese cakes like Tokyo banana, buy it in the shops after the immigration, tax free and cheaper.
