Neighborhood: Haneda / Kamata
Haneda / Kamata is known for its airport with many hotels popping up with the increase in international flights. It’s also an area that offers many shrines and temples with ancient origins including Anamori Inari Shrine or Ikegami Honmonji temple which is visited by more than 300,000 people in October's Buddhist Oeshiki festival. The area around Kamata station is lined with restaurants and is lively until late at night. In particular, it’s known for the large collection of tasty gyoza specialists.

I am a Canadian who used to BBQ every day of the summer in Canada, so this ability to BBQ outdoors in Tokyo is a BIG deal!

"Auto" BBQ means that the grill, meats, food, and all the necessities are provided for you.
You just provide the cash!

Perfect for the traveler in Japan who is here for >2 weeks and would like to hang out in the sun and grill and drink, and then not have to clean up afterwards... There are lots of people out on any weekend in the summer, so it is a good time.

Beach is a bit rocky, so don't go there for the sand, but you can dip your feet in the water to cool down.

Bring lots of your own beer, and other snack food if you are going all day.

It is remarkably hard to find out how to book and make a reservation.

A community park in Ota, Tokyo.
It has a large campground, sandy beach and dog run. There are enclosures for picnic and barbeque as well.
One can see the flights take off from Haneda Airport. Also, watch the movement of ships and vessels entering ports in Tokyo.
Take a Keikyu bus Mori32 (Jonanjima round route) from JR Omori-eki east exit, or Tokyo Monorail Ryutsu Center and get off at the bus stop Jonanjima 4 chome. From there ,3 minutes by foot from the stop.
Great views in the evening hours.

It is a very nice park to visit. Lush green with great sea view. And a view of planes landing at haneda airport. Looks beautiful. In night you can see jelly fish on the walkway towards the far right side of park. Very nice place to visit

Its a bit far off from any train station. I did some research around the route and decided to take a route which I think is feasible for me. Take the route, which I will mention, only if you habit of long walk otherwise don't take this route. Get to Hamamatsucho station and take the Monorail towards Haneda Airport. You have to get down at the 3rd station Ryutsu Center. Once you come out of the station take right and walk straight till you come to Tokyo Port Bird Park. After bird park you will come across a bridge and after that a traffic signal. Take right at traffic signal and walk straight till you see Port Store at the left. At that junction take left and the sign boards in English will guide you to the park.
The park is just a mile away from the boundary of Haneda airport. Planes will just fly past over your head every 2 minutes. You can get great shots of planes approaching and landing at airport. You can also see big ships across the bay. Nice place to relax because of breeze.

Small, not well kept park by the sea. No transport to and from. Plenty of toilets but nothing much else!
