Neighborhood: Shinagawa / Gotanda
In Shinagawa, an office district shares space with luxury residential buildings and the scene is constantly changing with rapid development. Ikedayama park and Togoshi park are great places to see beautiful traditional Japanese gardens with ponds, as well as enjoy the changing seasons. Shinagawa was a post and a port town during the Edo era and the lavish old Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples at Shinagawa and Ebara are very popular. It's a great place to get in touch with the old Edo atmosphere on a pleasure boat cruising along the canal. The neighboring area around Gotanda station is a study in modern contrasts filled with unique restaurants and a lively nightlife.

This was a truely unique experience. I was met by the chef at the address provided. We went together by taxi to the local fish markets and selected our fresh seafood. We then went to his flat and the lesson began. I learned a lot about sashimi preparation, as well as amazing clam miso and delicious seasoned rice. I was completely challenged when making the Japanese block omelette - such a skill enhancing experience! The chef was kind, calm and patient with a good sense of humour. This experience wasn’t cheap - but so worth it!!!!!!!

I really enjoyed taking this class and learned how to make more than 10 types of sushi! I booked this class through an online booking platform called Cookly. Learning how to make sushi rice, and beautifully decorated sushi was a highlight!

We went to Japan on honeymoon. I had actually heard about Washoku Club on facebook. We tried the Sushi making experience, and we had so much fun making different types of sushi! The dish arrangements were beautiful too! Japanese cuisine is just so beautiful and delicate!
