Haruka was our guide to the interesting culture of salary men, melons that cost 28,000 Yen, restaurant protocols, and the bright lights of Ginza. I did this tour on my first day in Tokyo and learned customs that proved helpful during the rest of my trip. Haruka was fun and informative. A great way to start a vacation!

We had an incredible evening learning about some popular dishes in Kyoto on our Kyoto Casual Evening Pontocho Food Tour. Our guide, Cole, could not have done a better job- he was knowledgeable, fun to talk with, and full of great suggestions and stories. The tour included more food than we could eat, and we found ourselves in restaurants and shops we would never have discovered on our own. For visitors to Kyoto, it's a great way to get a sense of the local food scene and learn about some of the meals you will want to seek out on your own. We highly recommend Arigato Food Tours- especially if you are lucky enough to enjoy a tour with Cole!

I joined a virtual tour that focuses on Green Tea.
The tour organizer Lauren knows well about the history and specialities of Green tea.
First, we learned about the basic info of green tea. Second, experience the way to brew green tea. Lauren kindly taught us it. Third, about the new tips of green tea. I didn't know some information until then!
You can enjoy this tour while you are in your house, so I recommend it before you travel to Japan. It makes your travel more enjoyable!

My family and I are traveling to Tokyo at the end of this year (hopefully the Covid-19 pandemic would have ended by then) and am looking for kid-friendly areas. Our guide, Alexandro provided a lot of interesting information/history about certain attractions like Shibuya's renowned scramble crossing and Shinjuku's Hotel Gracery (Godzilla Hotel).

Furthermore, the presentation was very interactive and he provided a lot of personal experiences and recommended restaurants/food which one must eat in Tokyo. Would greatly recommend this virtual tour for those who have never been to Japan's busy capital/those who are looking for recommended places to eat. :)

NICE! So great you had fun and you enjoyed the tour! We loved having you and Alex said it was all so much fun! We hope many folks can use these virtual tours to have a bit of fun and interactive planning time before traveling to japan! Better than a guide book. <3

Three of us participated in the "new" Allstar Food Tour with Hayato. We met our guide Hayato at the kabuki Theatre in Ginza and had five food tastings. Included were at least two substantive meals which focused on unique Japanese food at off the beaten path locations in the Ginza area.

Our most knowledgeable and bilingual (Japanese and English) guide Hayato tailored the places of interest apart from food to our interests. Included was a visit to a rooftop garden with views of both Tokyo Tower and Skytree. He took us to a hidden shrine and even an underground location with exotic cars.

This food tour was priced higher than the completion but fits the description of "you get what you pay for." I definitely recommend it.

Our guide Marcos 10 gave us a first class food tour in Osaka - “ Japan’s Kitchen”!
I wanted to try Kobe beef and Marcos took us to a place that served excellent meat at a great price. We also tried Takoyaki (fried octopus balls), Kushikatsu, a fabulous izakaya (Rikimaru) with a grill where you chose what you wished to eat (we may go back tomorrow if we can find it!)
Marcos also gave us loads of fascinating information on Japanese culture, religion and some very interesting and humorous stories too.
The three hours went by in a flash - I’d definitely recommend Marcos to anyone doing a food tour of Osaka - just make sure you have an appetite!

This was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Yappy was our guide and he showed us wonderful hidden gems in the Shimbashi area. I would recommend this to all who want to get beyond the central tourist areas and see how the working people of Tokyo live and eat. The food was delicious and we saw a side of Japanese life that would have been hidden to us. Fantastic tour with a guide who was delightful to spend time with and so knowledgeable!

YAY, one of our favorite comments to hear from our dear guests is that our tour was a highlight of their trip!!!! Nothing makes me happier. We will share your comments with Yappy too! We work hard to show off the beaten path hidden gems and foods that visitors might not get to try. So glad you noticed and thanks for sharing your experience!

The tour began with a very warm welcome by Marie near the Kanji museum. We had a private walking tour with her . She took us around the heritage Gion district telling about the history of the life of Geishas and Maishas who inhabited these areas for years. A very bubbly and well informed girl, Marie has a great comfort with English so she explained everything with ease.
We tasted some local food at quaint shops like an amazing chocolatier( Cacao ??) A small box of chocolates of our choice were also part of the tour. Then we walked across to another heritage area and finally reached the restaurant for the 10 course Kaiseki dinner. Marie was a great company- explaining the choice of sake available and the food that was being served.
A very personalized experience curated by the Arigato tours, will recommend this tour most definitely to anyone interested in such a local experience in Kyoto.

I did an at home virtual experience with Arigato Food Tours. The theme was DIY cocktails and we learned how to make two seasonal cocktails. It was very fun and we learned a lot about cocktails in general! It was a great way to spend time during quarantine and I totally recommend it!

This tour was a highlight of our trip. Michie and Yuko were wonderful guides showing us the best shopping, sharing history and cultural facts as well all of the incredible food bites along the way. We had lunch at an awesome fish restaurant where we learned some of the Japanese chopstick etiquette as well as foodie facts. The grand finale of the day was the tea ceremony which was so special - we got to drink matcha tea from antique bowls - mine was 170 years old. So so special to be hosted by the owner of the antique shop and his daughter. They were very nice and we feel like we experienced something that few others get to. We highly recommend this tour and this company.
