I broke my foot just before our trip to Tokyo and we were looking for an English speaking driver/guide to show us the city. We lucked out with Yoko-she’s personable, knowledgeable and an excellent driver. She went to college in the states so her English and knowledge of US history was impressive. We had a short agenda of places we wanted to see and she seamlessly filled in the all the best sites and awesome views of Tokyo. I would highly recommend her and in fact have already given her name to my friend who’s planning a trip next year!

Yoko is very kind and accommodating tour guide. She was very knowledgeable of Tokyo and Japanese history and speaks impeccable English. She has a great sense of humor and was an absolute delight to spend the day with. When I return to Tokyo I hope that she will still be guiding tours! She somehow managed to schedule time for our group to see as many attractions as possible in our half-day trip including Tsukiji fish markets, Ueno park, the palace shrine, Shibuya crossing, the Hello Kitty store and much more. This day in Tokyo was definitely the most memorable of my 11 day trip to Asia. Thank you, Yoko!

This was our first trip to Japan and we were limited on time so we wanted to have a private guide who knew the area well and could take us on a couple of day trips outside of Tokyo. Yoko picked us up at the hotel and took us to Nikko where we saw the Tosho-gu shrine and the large area around it. Yoko is very knowledgeable about the city she was born and lives in (Tokyo) and many of the day trips. We wanted someone who could talk about the local Japanese culture and the sites we were seeing and we were very pleased. She has a great deal of knowledge about the areas she tours which we thoroughly enjoyed. After seeing the shrine we went to see the 3 waterfalls in the area: Ryuzu, Yudaki, and Kegon waterfalls. All 3 are very different and it was great to have a guide that knew exactly where to go and was willing to spend as much or as little time as we wanted. I was interested in photography which was another reason I didn’t want a group tour that would only go to the shrine. After the waterfalls we went to see a place with Gizo rock statues in the Kanman Gorge that we discovered on You Tube. Yoko had never heard of it and was planning to add it to her Nikko trip experience if people were interested. We saw more in Nikko in one full day than almost anyone. It was a full 12 hour day including stopping for dinner to have an authentic Japanese dinner. Two days later Yoko picked us up at the hotel again and we spent the entire day in the Mount Fuji area. Similar to Nikko I wanted to have a private guide so that I could stop to take photographs at my leisure and go at our own pace and not that of a large tour group. We started by seeing the Fuji Shrine, then drove up the mountain on a spectacularly clear day! We stopped in several places to view the mountain and take photographs. If you take a group tour from Tokyo you will be on a bus with about 50 people and only go to what is referred to as Station Five on the mountain. This is the area where there are tourist shops, restaurants and bathrooms. Only if you have a private guide would you be able to stop where you want to stop at your own leisure. We then had a traditional lunch and then explored Saiko Iyashi no sato NENBA, which is a traditional Japanese village which was flattened by a catastrophic mud flow and rebuilt as a tourist attraction to show how an ancient Japanese village was like prior to large cities. We had great views of the mountain at a distance from this village. On our way back to Tokyo we drove by and stopped at 2 lakes where we could get additional views of the mountains. It was a fabulous day with great weather and I would highly recommend anyone to see the Mt Fuji area with Yoko in a private tour and not in a group tour situation. This was another very long day but well worth it because we saw way more than any other tourist would see if they were to take public transportation or a group tour. Yoko’s van is new, very clean, very spacious and she has freshwater bottles, snacks, and a charger so that you can charge your iPhone during the day. The seating was extremely comfortable and there’s plenty of room to take anything with you that you may want to use during the day. The van is also large enough for a family. My wife and I were both extremely pleased and would definitely recommend and use her services again when we return to Tokyo. We were only in town for seven days and wanted to make very most out of the time we had and this was a great option to see much more than most people see twice the time.

Yoko provided an amazing tour or the Mount Fuji area to me in June 2019. I had wanted to visit at a number of different places and had spoken to Yoko beforehand about this. All of these were easily included into our itinerary as well as a couple of hidden gems and was all included into the best and easiest route to take on our trip. Yoko's knowledge of the area was highly impressive and greatly added to the tour of the area. Her wonderful personality made it extremely easy to enjoy the trip. I would certainly recommend to anyone looking to explore around Mount Fuji.
