Neighborhood: Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.

The Nittere Plaza click was interesting. I watched it at 3pm and 8pm. Get there about 10 minutes prior to the hour because crowds do gather. The click starts its performance about five minutes before the hour.

This is a nice little plaza and when I first saw this clock I immediately thought "Howl's Moving Castle," and yes it was designed by Hayao Miyazaki of Ghibli Studios. It is a marvelous structure and great fun to watch. If nearby, do make a point to see.

The Plaza is famous from the the Giant Ghibli Clock, which was designed by Hayao Miyazaki, the director and co-founder of the Studio Ghibli.
Clock is big, ca 20m wide and 3 storey high. It is full of details, cannons to mark time, blacksmiths and my favourite, a tea pot. It performs a show at noon, 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8 .p.m daily and at 10 a.m during the weekend additionally.
Enjoy the show. Otherwise area is office block with few restaurants.

Located near the Shimbashi station, the clock was located on the second floor in front of the Nittele building.
It was a huge clock that had so many moving parts. I had to constantly scan it during the performance to see everything. It was whimsical and cute.
While the information sign listed a show on the hour the clock actually starts moving a couple minutes before. I recommend arriving five minutes earlier if you want to see the whole show and stand in the viewing area across from it. Don’t stand underneath it if you can.
I only caught the morning viewing but I read that one should also go in the evening as the lighting adds another dimension to the experience.
Well worth the visit even if this is the only place you see in this part of Tokyo, though I would combine with the nearby Hama Rikyu Gardens.

The Ghibli Clock NI-Tele Really BIG Clock) is a large clock and sculpture designed by Hayao Miyazaki, installed outside the Nittele Tower. There are several shows a day, and best of all, it's free.

Ghibli fans must stop here to enjoy the shows that happen at 3pm, 6pm and 8pm. It's a waltzy cacophony that springs to life Miyazaki style! I went at 5:45pm on a rainy day, so it wasn't busy at all.

I don't know about the "plaza," but the clock is one of the most underrated hidden gems of Tokyo. It comes to life at 12, 3, 6, and 8PM, as well as 10AM on weekends. The show actually begins 5 minutes before, so get there early, and prepare your video setting.

This steampunk clock is a melancholic monstrosity of fantasy and industry. It looks like Tim Burton and Neil Gaiman got a bunch of 19th Century venture capitalists together to design a watch and this is what they emerged with.
Definitely worth seeing - shows are not every hour though are regular enough. I suggest going at dusk as the lights are great though too much later in the evening and you won’t get great photos as it’s quite dark.
Also, be aware the show commenced a minute or so BEFORE the hour.

Not something i would go out of my way to see but if you happen to be in the area (very close to Park Hotel, Shiodome) its nice to watch it spring into life at various times during the day/evening when music starts to play and various clockwork figures pop out of doors, etc. It was apparently designed by the director of the Castle in the Sky and Spirited Away films so did draw a crowd (mainly tourists) whenever we walked past it.

We stayed at Tokyo Park Hotel nearby and walked past this clock daily. Only saw it once. Timings are at 10a (optional) Noon/3p/5p/8p. Get there early as the timing of the show is about 5 minutes before. Sometimes lots of people. The moving pieces are interesting, a'la City of Lost Children or Bladerunner. Good luck and enjoy!
