My friends and I had a lovely experience walking and learning from Sayuki about the different treasures we found at the antique market. I was quite interested in learning about the different Kimonos they were selling there. We found some long sticks that looked like old pipes, luckily Sayuki was there to tell us that they were old portable ink holders! The antique market was a nice and fun way to learn what people in Japan have been collecting from different eras. She gave us quite a lot of interesting insight about the different kimonos they were selling there. Sayuki is a geisha, she could tell us which one would be worn by a geisha or not. You will learn so much about Japanese goods and culture! If you are not strong in Japanese( like me), do not worry! Sayuki will explain and also translate for you it in English. They sell anything from cutlery, kimonos, head ornaments, jewelry, and other interesting antique goods! For the trip we all brought ower own masks! Highly recommend this trip if you are in Koto, Tokyo!

I did not know what to expect but it was a splendid evening of entertainment and education of the geisha traditions. Sayuki told us about geisha lifestyle, Her own story as an Australian coming to japan and then dedicating her life to become a geisha. The music and dance were my favorite. we even played some games traditionally played in geisha houses.

Review of: Kabuki Tour
Kabuki show is often mentioned among the things every foreign visitor should see in Japan. So I visited the theatre, and what more, with geisha as the guide! The interior was interestingly different from theatres back in Europe and I learned interesting facts, regarding some of the differences thanks to my guide, who explained history and traditions of the performances. There was also translating device, thanks to which you know, what is going on on the stage without the need of speaking Japanese yourself. The story was simple, but very nice, showing how person can change for the sake of his or hers loved ones... The experience is more costy, than just a ticket to the show of course, but you will also get to meet and spend time with a real geisha (before the show), that will give you more information about kabuki, than just visiting the place on your own.

Geishas are important part of japanese culture. In this event, you will enter the house, where some of such ladies live their daily life and you will see one of them preparing the make up, while another one will explain more about it. You will have a chance to ask what you were wondering, about their life, training, performance and so on. For those, interested in geishas and/or makeup related topics, it is a good opportunity to talk with them and see not only the white, professional face, but also the woman behind it. After geisha was ready with her makeup (this part took about an hour), we went to nearby bar to enjoy some time together with both geishas (reserve more time if you want to do this as well). We also had the chance to take pictures with them in front of nearby temple, that added to the experience.

Review of: Kabuki Tour
We booked this tour as a couple around October, and we don't regret any single dime spent on it. You can choose between watching the entire show or a fraction of it, but the way the performers act is so awesome that you will probably stay for the entire showing. The best part is that everything gets explained in detail so you don't miss what is going on. So in the end we can say we don't regret anything at all and thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for an authentic approach to japanese culture!
