Neighborhood: Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.

I highly recommend Tokyo Leisure Land for the UFO machines. The staff are generally friendly and most of the games are 100 yen per turn. There are also a number of photobooths and other video games to play. I did not bowl or play pool whilst there, but I walked past both activities and they appear smaller than standard in Australia and I wasn't tempted to try.
There is a drink and dessert/snack store inside. However, I do not recommend the bubble teas as the staff fill the cup 3/4 and the pearls seemed stale. All in all, a great place to win UFO prizes or play video games, but I would not recommend any of their other activities. I also recommend going on the ferris wheel on a clear night to see the Tokyo Skyline :)

Great place for families with kids. Entrance is free but you have to pay with 100 yen coins to play each game. It's like an arcade centre with lots of games like throwing balls into the nets, racing games, fighting games, the recent Disney tsum tsum games for younger kids and also different types of toy-catching games. Now what's different about this arcade is that the toys/figurine prizes that are to be caught, are NOT on sale anywhere in Japan. And they are exclusive to Leisureland. I saw lots of Star Wars figurines like R2D2, Darth vader and even Dragonball's Golden Freza. Never seen anywhere before! Such is the awesomeness of Japan.
Food - we tried First Kitchen which was just outside Leisureland and they served pastas and fried chicken. Piping hot fresh food so thumbs up for that. There was also a crepe shop inside Leisureland which had both savoury as well as sweet crepes.

I came on a Wednesday with my boyfriend, and we were one of three groups there. There was a group of 4 young men and another group with a father and his daughter.
There are many UFO machines (claw catching cranes) but the toys are very outdated. The staff are not helpful with moving the stuffed animals around to be in easier to grab locations.
Also - many places online say it is open 24/7 and that the only part that closes is the baseball area. However, as of March 2017, only a small area is open 24/7. The majority of the games and activities open at 10am.
Would not recommend, but if you are in Odaiba early, Leisure Land is the only place open before 11am

This place was the worst thing we saw on our whole trip to Japan. Do not go here! It is a giant warehouse full of crappy arcade games and those machines with claws that never actually grab a toy. Every machine had obnoxious music blaring/screeching from it. There was an artificial pond with real fish in it that people could catch over and over again. We literally couldn't leave fast enough.

There are many arcades in the Tokyo area, but this was the most sane one to take the kids to (ages 11-15). Most we found were small spaces on many levels. This one was all on one level and was huge -- felt like a football stadium. There are many claw games where you take a chance on grabbing a prize, some virtual reality, 2-D and shooter games, many photo booths where you can add artwork/captions to your photos, and a ton of little bubble gum type machines to insert 100 or 200 yen to get little prizes. My girls ended up liking this last category to get cheap souvenirs. The best part for the 11 and 13 year old girls, though, was riding around on huge stuffed animals that you could steer around the complex. My 15 year old son really enjoyed some of the more advanced games.
Just outside the arcade is (we think) the tallest ferris wheel in Tokyo. It takes 16 minutes to go all the way around and was a really smooth ride with great views over the harbor back toward Tokyo. Well worth the 3,000 yen for all five of us.
There was also a very luxurious shopping mall, a few restaurants and a large Toyota complex nearby to look at cars of the future and even be driven around in some mini cars. A great way to spend a few hours getting out of the craziness of Tokyo. We loved it!

There's everything arcade here! You can play everything till you drop, note that if you get to the back of the leisure land there's this ninja room / haunted room that's managed by real people, you should try that if it's open!
And of course the sumo machine, try to get the highest rank. It's an awesome place, it's also one of the last places i visited before i left Japan (Odaiba being the last area before a flight out of the airport). Worth a visit!
