This is hands down a don't miss activity in Tokyo - if you are happy riding on two wheels! I can't believe how many sites we saw and how the day just flew by. We stopped on bridges and discussed Tokyo history and politics, stopped for a Japanese lunch, saw current culture and historic culture. From the new fish market to an ancient temple, the City was revealed to us. Tokyo seemed so much more accessible and easy after our cycling trip. I didn't want to end.

My husband and I take cycling tours in cities whenever we can. In Tokyo, we took Noel’s full day Cultural Tour. Noel knows the best back routes to cycle around the city’s highlights and he really knows his history for when we stopped. We had a great overview of Tokyo in 6 hours, hitting the highlights as described on the website. One downside was the pretty mediocre selection of bikes, of which very few are a large enough size for many visitors. My bike seat post had to be extended to the max and the saddle was still too low for my long legs. Also, we do a ton of cycling so we found the “how to ride” directions quite patronizing, although non riders might not notice that. The last negative was the speed that we had to tour various sites so if you go on this tour, just take note of your own personal highlights so you can go back the next day. In the end, we enjoyed being able to ride around such a massive city and would recommend this type of tour for sure.

Last week we joined Noel and a group of five others on a whole day biking tour around Tokyo. It was a superb day out, and a great way to get orientated in this mega-city. We wished we'd done it on our first day there. This was not our first visit to Tokyo, but our geographical awareness of the city was greatly enhanced afterwards.

The day began with a very thorough safety briefing from Noel and the allocation of bicycles. The bikes are all in very good condition, and great care was taken to ensure that they were correctly adjusted to suit each rider. Be aware though, that because the bikes are made in Asia, they will likely feel a little different to Western bikes. Getting used to this takes only a few minutes, and its well worth the small mental and physical adjustment for such an excellent tour.

The tour covers the Tsukiji fish market, a ride through Ginza's upmarket shops, the Imperial Palace, Akihabara, Ueno Park and lots more besides, all of which have been listed by other reviewers. Lunch consisted of some excellent Ramen noodles and Gyoza dumplings at a small local restaurant which Noel describes as one of his favourites. I can see why - they were really good!

The background knowledge both of Tokyo and its chequered history and of Japanese culture which Noel brings to this tour is invaluable, and offers many cultural and historical insights. We'd highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Tokyo.

My husband and I take bike tours as introductions to each new city we visit around the world. Being our first visit to Tokyo, we certainly wouldn't miss this one. Our guide was Noel and we covered a lot more territory than we expected. Noel is very well versed on the city and clearly knows the sites. Biking in a city requires an eye on safety as experienced bikers know. Noel carries this a bit to an extreme. I'll call it an over abundance of concern.

Pausing to snap a photo or failing to stay perfectly in single file line tire to tire came with the scorn of our leader almost instantly. I enjoyed the tour greatly but I did feel a bit too chastised along the way.

I would have rather seen less and took more time discussing the sights and taking photos. My memory of Tokyo city feels a bit like a drive by. Every bike tour I have ever taken included at least one bottle of water and usually included lunch for the fee paid. This one did neither.

A few items about this tour. Cons: 1. Noel is with you the entire time, rushing you to move you along the tour. Our issue was that it was difficult to take pictures or walk away from Noel without him asking you to stay with the group. We felt we missed many opportunities to take photos. 2. His famous phrase is not to make any sudden moves while biking, I understand that, but when he say's this all day long, it get's old. Our group consisted of pretty much all adults, no children, but we felt as he was addressing or talking to his children. Pros: 1. He has excellent knowledge and if you like history...this is the tour to take. 2. Keeping you super safe. While under my cons, I complained about this, if you're worried about safety, don't...he's good at making sure that he keeps you safe. I wouldn't take this tour again, but if you really like history and need someone to make you feel safe while riding in Tokyo...Noel your guy.

This is the best value for money tour I have been on. I saw more of Tokyo in one day than I could have found under my own steam in a month. The equipment was great and our guide Noel was fabulous with a genuine interest in Japanese culture and modern history. Tokyo is a tricky place to get around despite the best efforts of the Japanese to help English speakers. This city is very bike friendly and surprisingly easy to negotiate. This tour was a great way to get orientated in big town and I cannot recommend it more highly.

We had an amazing time on the waterfront biking tour! Noel made biking through a highly populated city seem so easy and safe. There are a lot of stops so we were never tired. He let us choose the last few sites so we could visit areas we were most interested in. We went to the Kiyosumi Gardens and the Sumo wrestling stadium. These sites along with the fish market were highlights of the tour!! We lucked out because the stadium was open and we walked right into a match! We were able to sit up close and watch the sumo wrestlers in action!! Noel said this has never happened before, but every so often on a tour he gets lucky and sees something really awesome! I highly recommend this tour!!!

Today we biked with Noel to all his favorite and secret places. He is the best tour guide we have ever had-knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely cared about what individuals in the group were interested in. Most importantly, he carefully led us thru the streets and sidewalks of busy Tokyo.
Lunch was at a small restaurant with fabulous soba noodle dishes. We saw the Imperial Palace Gardens, electri city, oldest temple in Tokyo... and the secret garden...a complete tour you could not do on a bus! Highly recommend this one!

Bad service.
We booked with someone else, but thought it was this one. Names are all pretty much the same. We did not get a refund, nor a chance to make a tour. Better to book with neil instead of noel, much more flexible and excellent tour.

Took the tour today with Noel and really enjoyed it. I contacted him online to book and he was quick to respond with details and instructions. Noel was very good with providing directions for the metro and specific instructions on where to meet. I had my mother-in-law with me and he took the time to ensure she was confident on her bike before we set off. As Tokyo is obviously a very busy city, Noel took care to explain the rules of the road (and sidewalks!). Our half-day tour included riding along the Sumida River, going in the fish market, visiting the outer area of the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station. The half-day tour for us started at 09:00 and finished around 12:30. The only thing I would recommend is bring lots of water; each bike has a basket so you have lots of room to carry an extra bottle or two!
