Best to visit at night

Best to visit at night, you can get dinner in the food court first at 2F. Then just exit the food court you can see the statue

Diver city is fantastic. Grab heaps of bargain for shopping there and make sure to always eat as much sushi train as you can when go to Japan. Gigantic Gundam statue. A must visit.

The life size Gundam is very impressive. But the exhibition is not that great. The video show is pretty meh... And the exhibition hall display items are relatively lame. The custom gunpla box painting is ok. In my opinion, the paid zone is not worth the entry fee. Free zone has enough for regular Gundam fans. They really could improve... More

If you happen to be in the area, the statue is worth seeing. It's bigger than I thought it would be, and at certain times it lights up and moves. There are a few interesting things to see in the area (decks odaiba mall, the Statue of Liberty, rainbow bridge) so it's worth making it an evening trip to get... More

Missed this the first time we went to tokyo, so we had to come back. Located out side diver city mall, this place is perfect for that touristy photo. The mall itself is a nice back drop

There's a gundam cafe nearby the robot and there are many many malls surrounding the robot. Even if youre not a fan of gundam, you should still drop by

It was amazing to see the RX 78 Ver 1/1!! :O I also loved the mini show during the sunset and at the evening (where they show this chibi short of Char Aznable). The Gundam Cafe is cool too esp that trailer where they sell model kits. I bought a GFT ver and i tell you its worth it. If... More

Wow, I've seen it before but did not realise that there are set times when the statue moves. So exciting to see this... we made it just to see the end of the 3 PM staging and it was awesome!!! We could also see that a lot of birds had made the statue its home in the neck of the... More

The main reason I want there it's for the big, life sized RX 78-2 Gundam "statue". It's really overwhelming and bring back all the childhood memories and allows for a quiet geek-out among families and people taking selfies.

Staying in Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi

Neighborhood Profile
Odaiba / Shiodome / Shinbashi
Odaiba is an entertainment hotspot with a giant ferris wheel, concert halls, amusement arcades and lots of shopping. It also boasts Oedo-onsen-monogatari, a hotspring that recreates old Edo-era ambiance and is very popular with foreign visitors. Shiodome has ultra-modern office buildings where you can often find restaurants with a great high-rise view of Tokyo. The neighboring area of Shinbashi is a district of much older commercial buildings and it's a great place to join 'salary men' enjoying a drink and snacks at street stalls under the railway bridges after work.
