猿江神社は”コンクリート造り”の社殿。そして”コンクリート造りの社殿”としては国内最古（昭和6年）なんだとか。猿江神社の社殿に関して、こんなエピソードがあります。東京大空襲の際、この近隣一帯(深川)は焼け野原になってしまいます・・しかし、猿江神社の社殿は奇跡的に焼失を回避。その際、1km以上ある錦糸町の駅からは、
焼け野原の中にポツンと立つ猿江神社の社殿が望めたんだとか・・。

桜が満開の時に伺いました。境内に大きなソメイヨシノが植えてありホントに綺麗でした。ここは御朱印が季節毎に変わったり、本堂が都内最古級のコンクリート造りの神社だったりと色々な見所があります。

都営地下鉄住吉駅から徒歩5分ほどのところにある神社です。駅から行くと神社の後ろ側に出ますが、反対側が正面です。大きなコンクリートの社殿の神社で、他に境内にはいくつかの稲荷社があります。鳥居のわきにはかわいい猿の石像がありました。ご朱印もいろいろ季節によって異なるものをいただけるようで、興味深いです。

国内最古のコンクリート造社殿だそうです。地域に密着した神社という趣で、静かでいい雰囲気でした。御朱印は、1月はお正月限定のものになるようです。

源頼義が奥州討伐の頃、近付近の入り江に流れ着いた勇将の鎧に
「源頼義の臣 猿藤太」と書いてあったことから
「猿藤太」の頭文字と、入江の「江」の字を取って猿江稲荷となったそうです。
（詳しくは境内に説明書きがあります）
おさるの書いてあるかわいい御朱印をいただけました。
境内はそんなに広くないですが、本殿は立派です。
犬を連れている人がいたりと、地元の方もよくお参りに来ているようです。

猿江恩賜公園などこの辺を猿江と言いますが、名前の由来がここの神社で関係してました。猿遠太と言う源氏の武将がこの神社の有った入江で亡くなり、その武将をお祀りしたのがこの神社との事。そこから猿と江を取り

住吉駅から徒歩5分ほど。
創建年不明。祭神は天照大御神、宇迦之御魂命、猿藤太。白く塗られた現社殿は1931年築の鉄筋コンクリート造。源頼義・義家の家臣である猿藤太が入江だった当地で亡くなり、塚を建てて葬られたことから猿江神社と名付けられたとのこと。境内には大きな神輿蔵があったので、盛大な例大祭が行われているのかもしれない。
