Hidden Tokyo: Along The Nostalgic Tram Line

Take a ride on Tokyo’s last operating tram to discover Old Tokyo’s Showa-era atmosphere and the forgotten district of Sanya. Discover a different side of Tokyo with a ride on Toden Arakawa Line, the last operating tram line in Tokyo. Take a journey to shitamachi, Old Tokyo, where there is a long history, shopping areas, and temples. Later we will head to Sanya, considered a ghetto district, where underdogs and daily workers used to live during the difficult post-war years. This is also the setting of Ashita no Joe.

A bit dry and barren and grey. Can't see the attraction in February and its description as a water park is a bit of a mystery.

This park isn't big at all, but it makes up for it in beauty. There wasn't much water running through when we visited, but the sakura were absolutely beautiful. In fact, out of all of the places we saw sakura this season, this had to have been the most beautiful spot. When the breeze came through, it seemed like I was in a snowglobe, but it was sakura petals. The park is really beautiful and if you're stopping at Oji station, I would say make the short walk up the hill to see it. To me, it's worth it.

This park runs paralell with a small creek that is quite well developed and is a pretty area. It is adjacent to the Asukayama Park which is much bigger over the river. It is only a short walk from Oji station over the creek and worth a look.

It is a quite, beautiful and small park in the middle of modernity. A temple is in front of the park, it has amazing statues.
