The area
Address
Neighborhood: Ochanomizu / Akihabara / Kanda
Ochanomizu boasts its academic foundations starting with Yushima Seido, the birthplace of modern day Japanese education. The area has kept its college town feel with several university campuses. If you head towards Jinbocho, you'll find musical instrument and sports equipment shops, and an area of used bookstores for students and anyone interested in literature and the arts. Akihabara is well-known for its computer and electronic goods stores, and is now hugely popular as the must-visit mecca for people interested in anime and games. Kanda is an office district where you can find loads of reasonably priced izakayas popular with professionals who stop to eat and drink before making their way home.

It was a waste of a time.. should have looked at the reviews before setting off.. there is nothing to see other than a little shop.

The only reason to ever enter the store is if you are already planning on eating somewhere inside Akihabara UDX and this happens to come across your footpath. It's a tiny store with little to look at, and in the 5 minutes that you will spend in there, you could have spent that time more productively at any of the larger name stores in Akiba (Animate, Toranoana, Kotobukiya, Mandarake).

I was excited to come here since it is in Akihabara but there wasn't much there. There were a few One Piece items but others were not as mainstream. Small shop which doesn't have much unless you are a big time Otaku.

It's small and really just a shop selling classic prints and general merch, with overpriced merchandise. Much better shops around Akihabara.

My sister loves anime and wanted to visit the Tokyo Anime Center. It took us about an hour of walking around just to find it. GPS would point us somewhere but it wasn't the correct spot. The shop is small with nothing much in it. My sister spent about 5 minutes in there and was done. She much preferred the multistory anime buildings you can find in Akihabara.

We weren't anime fans, but thought it would be interesting to learn a little about the popularity of anime. Well, we din't learn anything at the Anime Center. It was difficult to find and our cab driver never heard of this place, so we had to google our phone for twenty minutes before we found the place. It wasn't worth the time or energy to visit this place since you can learn a lot by just visiting all the stores and restaurants around Akihabara.

This area of tokyo is amazing and full of activities. Having grown up with Gundam shows myself I was running around like a kid in a candy store. But if you come, plan on staying for several hours because the stores have multiple levels and each floor specializes in different things such as "Sailor Moon" , Gundam, pokemon, card games and models.

Travel by bicycle all the way here to see a small room of 30+ sketches, little kids shopping for small anima cards, 1 doll figure and few TV screens. All this in a super small room.

The Anime Center is more about being anime central. Many shops, a thriving outdoor market......all selling anime. And there was a lot of it. I'm not an anime fan but I was very impressed with what I saw and experienced. If you're into anime, this is a one stop shop for you. Walk around, explore the side streets and travel up floors in buildings....you will be surprised at what you find.
