This was so much fun. You go faster than I thought and it was just like being in real-life Mario Kart. The instructors were fantastic and clearly do it often so they are good at guiding you through the city so I never felt unsafe. You’ll get lots of waves and smiles from passers by because it must be so funny to see a group of people rolling by dressed in costume on go karts! The location was a little tricky to find, so make sure you give yourself a little extra time to find it. They’ll take a lot of pictures for you so you don’t even need to worry about taking pictures while you’re driving (which is illegal in Japan).

Thank you for the nice review. We are glad to hear that you had a cool experience on the tour. Just a note that we are not related to Mario Kart or Nintendo. We hope to see you again on your next visit. Have a nice day! -StreetKart Reservation team

It was fun! Khan was our guide, he took many photos of us at no additional cost. The kharts go pretty fast and you can see various parts of the city. They lend you sunglasses and costumes. We went with some hats.

I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical, thinking this was one of those things that sounded way more cool than it would actually be. Happy to report that I was wrong! It was so much fun! It was so exhilarating driving around the streets of Tokyo in a go kart and the costumes, though silly, were actually a fun element! Billy, our guide, was a great leader, making sure we were safe and very clearly giving us signs on what to do. He took a ton of photos, too! A highlight of our trip to Japan for sure. Our family of four (parents with college aged sons) all loved it!

I wish I could give this more than 5 stars . This was such a fun way to explore Tokyo. We had a fantastic guide. It was just us (porbably because of covid not many people were traveling) so it was a fun "private" experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts with us. I wish I could remember his name, it might have been Rodrigo? I remember he said he was from Brazil. Thank you for such a great experience!

Had a complete blast on New years day.

We drove at night. Lots to see - and lots of onlookers waving and taking photos. Our guide took photos of us at the bottom of the sky tree.

We felt like celebrities all the way round!

Did this as part of our honeymoon in Japan and it was soooo much fun! Mu was a great guide and helped us learn how to use the go cart. He was a great leader and made our trip so much fun!!! We took a stop at Tokyo skytree and took great photos. It was definitely one of our highlights on our trip and we got to see the city in such a different way!

This was easily the best thing we did in Tokyo during our trip! First of all, prepare yourself for it to be exhilarating and terrifying all at the same time. You’re travelling on regular Tokyo streets and in traffic, seeing all of the big sites while driving a supped up Go Kart. The costumes are a hilarious add-on. The three hour tour was incredible, and also ended up being closer to 4 hours so well worth the cost of the tour. We had an absolutely blast. Our tour guide, Isabel, was a riot and kept up safe and entertained. This is something you absolutely must do if you’re Tokyo. Just remember that you need tour International Drivers Permit, which for us was super easy to obtain from our local CAA. It’s a MUST DO!!

We did the one hour tour of the Akihabara, area including a dive by of the Sky Tree. I brought my own costume, and would recommend you do too, unless you like looking like Mario and company. I think doing it at night, and catching all the night lights would be nicer. We did it at dusk, so we got some of that. You are diving a go kart on the streets of a major city, so be careful. After all, if you were driving to work, and a bunch of slow moving go karts, driven by tourists were in your lane, what would you think. Luckily, the Japanese people, are a little more patient than the rest of us. I don't know what the age restrictions are, but I wouldn't bring my kids on this, and one hour is enough. No need to do the 2 or 3 hour tour.

Thank you for your kind review. We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful time driving at dusk. You are correct - this is not an activity for children (only the young at heart!). You must be over 18 to drive a go kart with us. Thanks for riding with us and we hope you will join us again on one of our other 1 hour tours, maybe at night time next time!!

How this is legal I have no idea. You are flying through the streets of Tokyo on a tiny go-cart next to buses, trucks, etc. Our guide was so far ahead of us that we had to run red lights to stay caught up. We should have 1000% had a second guide behind us. The costumes are run down, dirty and torn. I was afraid of catching lice from putting the hats on my head. You spend the whole time death gripping the steering wheel afraid that one small wrong turn can send you impaling into the side of a car. There are too many beautiful things to see in the world to risk your life driving go-carts with idiots through the streets of Tokyo. Skip it and live another day.

Our guides are trained to respect all traffic laws and the explanation prior to your tour teaches you on how to proceed in case you get separate in a red-light so there's no reason to get desperate trying to keep up with the guide in every crossing. All our vehicles are properly registered under the Japanese laws & rules of traffic and we have the authorization to operate all our tours. We are sorry that you couldn't enjoy our tour but this kind of ludicrous activity is not for everyone.

You will see/hear that phrase multiple times during your visit. But don't worry, you can still dress up as some iconic Nintendo characters, such as Nintendo Game Boy Pikachu, Eevee, Mario, Luigi, etc.If your idea of a good time is to drive through the busy streets of Tokyo, at sunset so you can see the glow of the sun and the funky downtown lights, while driving an hilarious yet cool super charged go-cart, while wearing a silly costume, and being waved at by all the fun loving passersby you see as if you're a celebrity...Then yes. Yes, you should do this.

Thank you for recommending our activity! It is indeed a unique experience driving karts through the streets of Tokyo wearing costumes, and the sunset time is indeed amazing with the views of both daytime and night time! We're really glad to know you had fun with us and felt like a celebrity touring with us!
