I always get moved when I think of Hachiko and Ueno. The statue is here: 35°42'59.0"N 139°45'31.4"E (35.7163770,139.7587280) If you go to see the statue look in to their eyes . It’s beautiful.

The story became legend and a small statue was erected in the dog’s memory in front of Shibuya Station. The surrounding plaza is Tokyo’s most popular rendezvous point to visit as well.

We're very glad that we found out about this statue. It's not the famous one but it is a much better statue and shows both Hachiko and Professor Ueno. Very touching if you know the story. The statue is about twenty minutes walk from the...More

We took the wrong train and ended up in the UofT campus. We were glad we got here! Hachiko's solo bronze statue at the Shibuya Station is sort of lonely but his statue here in this campus with Dr. Ueno is full of happiness! It...More

This is a new statue of Hachiko (dog) and his owner Professor Ueno. If you are interested, this statue is in the University of Tokyo, Yayoi campus, next to the gate. Take a look to a small museum also close to the gate to know...More

For dog lovers and who knows Hatchiko from the movies, this is a must see. Finally, a statue featuring Hatchiko and his master Prof. Ueno are reunited.

We planned to go here since we loved the story and movie about Hachiko. We went here because this is new and not everyone else knows about this statue. There were no other tourists when we visited. It was an easy travel because the gate...More

A wonderful statue reminding us of love, friendship and patience. Google the story of "Hachiko" and you will view waiting for a friend in a brand new light.

Ueno, Asakusa
Traces of the history and culture of the Edo (old
Tokyo) era remain vividly in Ueno and Asakusa.
Spacious Ueno Park is a great place to relax and visit
a variety of different museums and galleries. At
Ameyoko which starts in front of Ueno station, the
grocery stores and clothing shops are crammed
alongside fishmongers. It gets particularly busy at
the end of the year, when many people go on shopping

I am not sure how early the Shibuya Station operates but the area where Hachiko's statue is, is a public waiting area.

Oops! I just assumed you were talking about the statue in Tokyo University. There is also one statue of Hachiko at Shibuya Station, which is across the street from the station.
