こちらは、春善光寺坂は文京区小石川2丁目と3丁目のちょうど境目にあたります。
名前の由来は、善光寺の敷地にそって回り込むように迂回した坂道が古くからあるからだそうです。

緩やかな坂

伝通院から西側の白山通り方面に向かうと、緩やかな坂がありますがそれがこの坂です。坂の途中に巨木のムクノキやこの坂の名称元となった善光寺があり、古くからの住宅街に寺院が点在するような閑静なエリアですね。坂の周辺は寺院巡りやお散歩にもってこいの雰囲気でした。

途中に善光があります

「善光寺坂」をご存じでしょうか？小石川2丁目と小石川3丁目の境に伝通院(徳川将軍家の菩提寺)に上る坂道が善光寺坂で、緩やかな道は情緒があって、坂の途中にある善光寺があり名前の由来となりました。
文の京・都市景観賞に選定されています。散策におススメですよ。

界隈に歌人の集った坂

坂の途中にあるお寺に因んで明治期に現在の名前がついたようです。また、界隈には幸田露伴や徳田秋声などの歌人や文人などがすんでいたそうです

小石川散歩の途中で見つけました

文京区は坂が多いので、お散歩していても面白いです。ここは坂の途中にある善光寺が由来の坂です。坂を登ったところにある椋の木も趣がありました。

善光寺

善光寺坂という名前の由来は、この坂の下に善光寺があるからです。善光寺は信州善光寺の分院です。春日の方から上って行きますと結構な坂で、しかも長いので息が切れそうになります。坂上には徳川将軍家の菩提寺、小石川伝通院があります。

坂の途中に善光寺というお寺があります

文京区小石川にある伝通院から山門を出て左手に歩くと道路の真ん中に大木が立っていて、その先から下り坂になりました。
こちらが善光寺坂で、名前の通り坂の途中に善光寺という古いお寺がありました。
近くには慈眼寺や澤蔵司稲荷があり都心にしては情緒のある坂道でした。

傾斜も結構な、しかも緩やかなカーブもありいい坂道です。

伝通院前から春日に下る坂道です。朝夕は坂上の女子高の学生たちで一杯です。名前の由来となる「善光寺」は坂下にあり、信州善光寺の分院です。築地塀がいい雰囲気を醸し出しています。この周辺は坂道多く、散歩しながらの観光をお薦めします。

緩やかな坂で、坂の途中には商店などはなく、静かな通りでした。
有名なムクノキも近くにあります(お寺の境内ではない）
