Magnificent place for visiting. And you have to visit and on top and under. There are some mountain passes, which are connecting and creating really nice view.
I recommend visiting.

Best appreciated driving east from Lori Berd along the H33 road through Koghes, you will see the Dzoraget River gorge to the south. This relatively fertile agricultural valley is cut deeply by the gorge, which drops unexpectedly and sharply to the river below. From Lori Berd you can get a stellar view of the joining of Urut and Dzoraget Rivers. In Yaghdan you'll find an ancient bridge crossing one of Dzoraget River's tributaries. In Stepanavan you can get a good look at the river from the Communist Caves.

we were driving by the river, from Alaverdi to Vanadzor. Somehow we missed the sign of work in progress. In the middle of hte way we got to abrubt stop. The road through the valley is closed, due to serious renovation. I don't know how long will that last, but judging by kilometres through the valley, the reconstruction will be going on for quite some time. So, beware of closed road signs.
